Grow Room Suggestions

Plants: 2 BlueBerry seedlings
The taller one is 1 week older then the short one
The short ones birthday is 12-08-08.

Lighting: 1 CFL 23 watt actual & one long light bulb(plug it in and turn the switch on). I also have reflective attic insulation stapled to most of the walls.

*****Upgraded from 1 cfl to 2 cfl 23 watt actual (75 watts apc) combined 150 watts... useing a Y splitter

Temp & Humidity: The temp stays around 68-75 F. constant but usually 72. I do not know the humidity.

Soil: Purchased "Flower & Vegetable Planting Mix".

Container: Styrofoam cup with 3 big notched holes in the bottom for drainage.

Ventilation: I periodically open the closet door and stick a big fan in front of it to provide air flow (2-4 hours per day).

Watering: usually every morning or night i will water the plants using a 20 FL. OZ. soda bottle with holes in the lid. I use tap water, but i let it sit out for a few days before use. I usually water each plant until a little water flows out the notched holes in the bottom of the cup.


So, I want to grow 100% organic bud. I want to keep it a small grow room. I live in an apartment and want to keep the smell down. I plan to smoke this bud and not sell it. I am debating on whether or not to have a mother plant. I would like suggestions on ventilation and lighting upgrades(or anything else you want to mention). I would like to keep it a covert operation (1 nosy roomie that smokes occasionally but doesn't want busted b/c of a grow room)

Don't want to sound negative but the light is inadequate, you're watering too much, the cup won't last long, you haven't mentioned what nutrients you'll be using and you have a nosy roommate.
Not a great start to growing. But if you are determined you'll find a way to make it work.

right now your ok on light. but in about a week or so when they get a little more to them you're going to want at least 3-4 23watt cfls directed on the plants.

you'll be able to get away with that during most of veg.

when it's time to bud you'll probably want about 8 or 9. because you have 2 plants that is.

based on the size of the closet you'll want about 15,000 lumens at least.

I'm on my first grow in veg state. ive asked all these same questions a couple times though.

I only have 1 plant, and i'm using 6 26watt cfls for feg and will have 4 42watt cfls during bud.

also make sure you use 6500K (daylight spectrum) for veg and 2400K-2700K (soft white spectrum) for budding.
