Grow Room/Closet Smell Masking

Hey everyone,

It's my first post here, I hope I'm doing it in the right area.

I am planning to do my first grow in a while, but first, I'm just planning everything out, I don't want to rush into it and mess up. I have few places I could do it in my house, each have their own sets of pros and cons. After doing a lot of reading I've decided my basement would probably be my best bet. The one thing I am worried about is the smell. I know people can get charcoal filters which filter out the smell, but my question is will the filter, or anything else, help the smell from going through the floor to the first floor. I was thinking of putting extra insulation or lining on the ceiling, possibly have a strong fan blowing right to the air outtake.

Any info or suggestions would be great.

Cheers!

carbon filter is what you mean? not charcoal. correct me if im wrong :) dont worry about insulation just make sure you've got a good carbon filter on your exaust. you can also go get a 20-30$ space heater (most now have air conditioning as well and u can set a room temp they will keep constant.) look for a heater with a large filter that can easily be filled with activated carbon (find it in the fish isle) put the heater in the grow so when your exaust pulls the air out of your grow room it will be pre-filtered as well. Check the DIY section too you will be able to figure it all out with that section. I really hoped this helped ;) GL HF :)

Hey, thank you for the responses.

@StewartWarner I do mean charcoal, I've read about them a few places. I will check out carbon ones as well though. I will do the space heater, where I live the weather can be pretty drastic at times.

@Superfoxwon I will definitly use one of those, thanks.

If anyone else has any ideas how to make sure the smells don't escape, please let me know! I was thinking, if there was any kind of fabric I could cover the room in?

Cheers!

Phresh filters with inline's usually work at 110% for the smell.
I have been told that these filters eliminate ALL odors, there is no smell unless you stick a cola in your nostril
