Someone called police to report a strong odor of marijuana. Officers arrived and confirmed the smell but couldn't get anyone to answer the door, so they filed for a search warrant.

In the meantime, those inside the house went to work to destroy the evidence, at least what they could fit down the toilet.

When officers got the search warrant and went inside, they couldn't find any marijuana but did recover drug paraphernalia, as well as several other items used for indoor growing.

you know the name of the game.

TELL IT TO THE JUDGE..

At the end they may drop all charges, but in the meantime you are innocent until proven guilty.

you still get arrested, go to jail, post bail, get a lawyer = money hungry business$$$

They can and do, do that here! They only have to go to a magistrate for a warrant and since magistrates believe the Police do no wrong they'll rubber stamp anything. Example: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/3567262/Police-raid-elderly-couples-garden-looking-for-cannabis.html

Could be handy to plant that stuff everywhere.:-):peace:

I doubt they can get a conviction on the cultivation charges ,
The Hooka if it has resin in it is a charge ,
The smell was prob cause .
I would not worry too much , but I bet at least one of those guys admitt it was happening and will help the state charge the others ..

Snitch's are why the police know what they know

Pot wasn't the only thing flushed down the toiled, those young guys lives were the bigger thing that went down that day. Evidence or no they'll be convicted and it'll be huge... Federal time...

Fucking school zones...

Im sorry but they cant walk past my house and believe they smell something, go to a judge and say ''we think we can smell weedd, please give us a warrant'' then get a warrant. I have known several people in the police ( who smoke!) and they quite clearly told me that it is quite difficult and very costly to get a warrant, especially without any proof other than a smell. The case you talk of was a joke and not the norm.

:weed: i think you will find british police can enter if they have good reason to believe drugs are being used, my m8 lived next door to someone being raided, my m8 was smoking skunk, the police called through his door that he was next, half hour later they busted in.
