hi guys, this is my first post on this forum, if what im saying doesnt make sense- dimensions, brand names etc.. its prob. coz. im situated on a little emerald isle on the north west of europe....

Not sure if the j peg attached properly or not so bear with me!

This is a very informative forum and id like to run something by whoever's online at the mo.

Im not really growing all that long, in fact my first harvest, 1 moroccan sativa lady..... is 5 weeks into flowering.

My grow room is a relatively standard sized wardrobe...1.5m wide, bout .5m deep and as high as the ceiling..

The way i was planning on working it is like so---
the shelf on top is for seedlings and clones, there is just a standard florescent tube in there, the plants have about .5m headroom.

The main wardrobe area, has an envirolight reflector and hood, with 2 envirolight 125w cfl growlights, one blue spectrum, one red spectrum..

when the clones/seedlings have reached a certain height, i'll put them into bigger pots and place them into the main area under the 2 x 125 w of red/blue light.
when the plants come to maybe 2-3 ft high then switch the lights to 12hr on 12 hr off

seemed like a good enough idea to me at the time... ive been thinking over it now though...and am wondering if maybe it might be a better idea to let the plants in the clones/seedlings area veg completely in there by taking away the shelf on top and giving them as much headroom as they need and putting in the 125 w blue spec enviro lite over them ( it would mean me having to get another reflector/holder)....then buy another red spec envirolight and have the flowering area underneath a completely red light affair with 2 x 125w red envirolight cfls

whadya rekon??

your current setup sounds fantastic..

1. make sure that you don't get light from your cloning chamber leaking into your FLOWERING area during the 12 hours of UNINTERUPTED darkness.

2. you don't and should not grow you plants more than 10 oniches tall if you are using Fluorescent lighting..

nice to have you at the site.. ... keep us posted..

cheers

hey there!
thanks for replying so quickly.
ive fairly much in sured that no light gets into the flowering chamber...lots of cardboard and silver duct tape... it is kinda hard ... to be exactly sure that no light what so ever gets in....

but, do you not think that buying an extra envirolight...and having a 125w light in the "cloning chamber" and then having 2 x 125w red specs in the flowering area would be like way better???

its just i was down to the local grow shop today...(i know iknow..these people will try to sell you everything...) firstly i was told that its no good using the red and blue lights together u have to veg with blue and then switch to 50/50 with the red....and for the plant to bud properly then when you go to flowering you have to boost the light way up...and NOT just use the same red and blue combo that i was using...

thoughts?????

ummm...

The more envirolites the better.. this is true... clones and seedlings need very very little ligh.. a simple CFL from wal mart or home depot (you probably don't have these on your island) or any hardware store will do...

as far as the spectrum goes i found this....

: )

FLUORESCENTS are available in a range of colour temperatures: 6000K (daylight), 4000K (cool white), 3500K (white) and 3000K (warm white). Daylight tubes have more blue in their spectrum and warm white more red. Results are not much different whatever tubes you use but, if you have the choice, either use a mix of warm white and cool white or change from cool to warm white when the flowering stage starts.

hi there folks !

i decided to make a few changes to my closet set up..
and of course have a few questions for you fine expert stoners out there!
(please see attached very bad attempt at a diagram) ( oh and compare it to my very bad diagram at the start of the thread)

as it stands i have about 9 seeedlings / clones on the top shelf so i decided to give them the 125w blue spectrum envirolight.

underneath in the flowering section i have one 4 ft moroccan sativa (of some kind ) have given up trying to identify what strain..
i only have 1 x 125 w envirolight on her at the moment, but will add another one later in the week when i get a chance to give a trip to the grow shop..

ive also invested in a couple of sheet of that mylat with the white backing... tis supposed to be the most reflective substance known to man ... or some shit...
coz im actually having real problems keeping the the flowering section absolutely completely dark... that blue spectrum envirolight just fuckig sprays photons of its "cool" white light into every nook and cranny imaginable ...

one more question!- is it ok or advisable to move the plants into larger pots just before flowering?? my question is one of a practical nature.. the top shelf that i using for veg mightnt really be able to hold up like 9 1ft wide at the base pots.....

garden knowm say grow no higher than 10 inches when veging with the envirolights, thats fair enough and more or less fits the top shelf of the closet set up... they are about 6 inches now... so what size pots shuld they be in??

when they are 10 inches i put them straight to flowering spectrum??? are they big enough at this stage? what size should the pots be when i put them under the flowering light??

Yes 8-12 inches is a good time to flower them.. You could also clone them when they get 10 inches tall and then let them grow back back to 10 inches.. this could take 4-7 days...

and then flower them.. this is what I would do.. : )

3 gallon pots wold be ideal.. but if you don't have room, you can use 1 gallon pots.. if you use 3 gallon pots you will most likely get bigger plants that need less frequent waterings..
