Grow Cabinets

Does anyone know where (online, or magazine, or common national chain((like walmart, homedepot, etc))) to get metal storage cabinets. Like the ones you used to see in school in the art classes for holding all the supplies. Or like a paint locker used to store flammable and paints stuff? Anyone? Dieing for a new grow cab!

Why would you want a metal cabinet to grow in??? They are conductors of both heat and electricity. The most inefficient material for growing in. VV

Tried building my own 4x4x4' grow box, and i thought it was doing great. Look pretty shitty but got the job done....I THOUGHT! Check out my grow lol. I am no handy man when it comes to woodworking. Metal, I can drill holes and cut circles in metal all day. Wood, I just can seem to put stuff together....I guess it's easier to destroy then create. I figure as far as light proofing, weatherstripping is I'll I should need, maybe a lil caulk, or duct tape or somthing, and as far as heat, my light is air cooled, and the cab will be well ventilated also. Ambient temps by the time I have my next grow box should be around 70f again instead of 90 +. And metal comes with locking doors :-). Just to keep the honest people out, ya know. Electricity I have no problem playing with. I am safe and I will make sure everything is right in that respect, no need to burn my house down or even worse ((j/k)) my poor babies....at least untill they are in my pipe lol.

very much so...I would like it twice as wide. I was looking at them, and talked to a few companies, the cheapest they would send me a bare cabinet, just the shell ya know, was 600 USD before shipping

Theres a shop near me and they are selling a unit at the moment, its like a big old chest of drawers, it is nearly 2 meters wide and about 1.4 meters tall. Inside it is lined with polished metal and fitted with lights and extraction. I think its pretty expensive though. Probably easy to recreate.

If working with wood is a problem...use drywall. that shit is amazing to work with, you can cut it with a knife! and any mistakes you make, call in a bucket of Drywall compound. i built my grow room out of the stuff, theres not a stitch of wood anywhere...i hate wood too! Built the frame out of metal Studs, another miracle to work with compared to wood! trust me, try it. built my Two stage, 12sq ft room for less than 200,

Thank you all, very helpful...

Mogie, looked at the link, looking for somthing around 7 feet tall. Cute little setup though, I have figured out what I am going to do, and as of right now only have spent $25 on pressure treated 2x2's. Just going to make the walls out of Black and White Poly. I will post a picture of the setup I am going to build.

Salamandastron, Very good idea with the drywall and metal. My next one will deffinatly be made with metal studs!

Pandabear, Looked at that and wasn't sure about it (price, size, and temp.) Now that I am thinking about it, I just installed my Air cooled hood, and it would have been fine for the temps part, but I bought the 2x2s before I rethought it! lol Thanks man.

NonGreenThumb, Thats what I am trying to do. Replicate a system. But I think I am going with a 2x2 frame setup and B&W poly.

Heres a lil drawing of what I m planing to do. The frame you see there is going to be made out of pressure treated 2"x2" s. Origanally the walls were going to be plywood, but i hate wood so I'm going to use all poly plastic for the walls and roof. The floor I will have to put a 4'x4' piece of plywood, as to not mess up the poly on the floor. the fans for the mother area will be PC sized fans, and the ones in the clone area wont be there....they dont need the wind right?just passive vents maybe one pc fan for fresh air? What do you guys think?
