GreenPoint Seeds Test Grow: Rugburn OG x Monster Cookies

Hello, and welcome to my testing of some new genetics from a new breeder, Greenpoint Seeds

This will be a test of Rugburn OG female x Monster Cookies male.

Rugburn OG:

An extremely sour/fuely pungent strain, that has a potent, uppity high. This strain is good for the inexperienced grower.

Lineage: Ghost OG X Rare Dankness #1

50-65 Days flower time

Monster Cookies:

I have no real info on this, but 303 seeds bred it and the lineage is

• MONSTER COOKIES - GIRL SCOUT COOKIES (PLATINUM) x YETI OG F1

This will be a Hempy style grow, and as you can see from the pictures, I soaked the seeds, 5 of them, for 24 hours, and they all sank. I then transferred them to a moist paper towel for about 10 hours, and finally into Rapid Rooters. I have them in the dark for 24 hours, then will be placing them under 1 - 23w CFL. I will be increasing the light for a total of 4 cfl/Cree Led bulbs.

I will keep them in the Rapid Rooters for roughly close to a week, then transfer to mini-hempy solo cups with 100% perlite. I will keep them in those for 1-2 weeks then transfer to their final 3 gallon hempy's which will be 80% perlite, 20% Vermiculite.

KISS is the method for my madness, and I will fill up the res of the 3 gallons with my nute solution before I transfer from the mini-hempy's so that the girls can have access to Nutes while they are headed for the res.
Maxibloom and RO water only, with liquid KoolBloom for the first 4-5 weeks of flower.

I plan to veg for 1 month, and hopefully preflowers will be showing by then. I will top once, 1 week after they are put into the 3 gallons, and LST as much as possible. I only have 4sq feet! I will be taking clones of all of the females, and will also be judging the best male to collect pollen so that I can breed him to the best pheno female.

Light is a Onyx Bloom LED, 200ish watt actual draw for flower, plus a Intelligent Gro 90 true watt for the reds and blues that the onyx isn't so heavy on.
I hope my plan comes to fruition heh, and even though these are tester genetics, the parents lineage is impeccable, and I am aiming for 5 ounces. I realize that is a smallish number, but in 4 sq feet, unknown genetics, and no idea on number of females, this seems to be a reasonable goal.

Update. 4 have popped out/started to pop out and Im just waiting in the 5th one. I had to pull the shell of one and it already had a tap root growing through the rapid rooter, so I will be transplanting them into the mini hempys tmrw .

Transplanted to mini-hempys. 18oz. Hole 2ish inches from the bottom, 100%perlite. I put them in then wetted the medium down with 6.1 pH, 150ppm spring bottled water. 4/5 germed for me, so fingers crossed they are all female. 3 of the 4 have a funky little under bend on one cotyledon, kinda cool. Okay, picture time.

How are they looking now? =)

My girls, fingers crossed, are working on finishing up their first true set of leaves, and 3/4 are loving life. The 4th one I can't seem to figure her out. She might just be a runt, but I cannot get her first leaves to stop drooping on me. She has been watered the same 150 ppm, 6.1 pH water as the others, but she just doesn't like being wet apparently lol


I will be watering today till a bit of runoff, and will be increasing the ppm to roughly 200. Hope everyone has a good Veterans day!

They do look good. I know too well how it sucks to see their slow development in their first days of existence =P
It's as if we come to check every 30mins to see if anything has changed =P

Your ppms sound good, even though I suggest you bump it up to 500 in the next few days. And don't be afraid to scale up to full power nutes (or near that) in 1 or 2 weeks.
Hempy buckets are very forgiving and even seedling tend to like "hotter" nutes early on. I've even seen side-by-side grows where the grower was being "careful" on one and "experimenting" on the other. And by the end of the first week the seedling which drank full nutes was nearly 3 times bigger than it's sibling.

Apart from that, your "runt" doesn't look like a runt at all, it just needs some attention for now. First I'd test if it's overwatering. When you water the others leave that one be for another day or 2 to let it dry out a little. If it spruces up you'll know it doesn't need as much water, at least for now.
If nothing changes, try upping the nutes earlier. It could just need a little boost.

Anyways, looks like a good start. Can't wait to see this thread in 2 months!

Thanks! Yeah, I am always a little weary of starting too early, but I know the original formula calls for it to be practically full strength from the get go. I will try that experiment today @Jad3

@horribleherk welcome! Glad to have you on board, and I couldn't agree more. Greenpoint Seeds is doing this the right way IMO by allowing the CONSUMER to decide for themselves, and doing it in aVERY public manner. I am ecstatic about the unfolding of these strains, and I don't think I would have been unhappy with any of the crosses, I mean, who could turn down free seeds?

im in the process of relocating so untill my house sells my room is shutdown & packed for the move for the first time in about 5 yrs. i dont have a grow going so im just kinda checking everyone else out & collecting ideas my prefered grow method is e&f coco in 2 gal smart pots but hempys,dwc, aeroponics & soil catches my attention too i grow under hps but i like to check out leds,t-5s & cfl's as well i recently downsized to a homemade 2x2 tub & a switchable 250-400 w. galaxy ballast ive used a 1000 & a 600 but for my 3x4 room the small set up is hard to beat i get the highest bud to dollar spent ratio with this set up im sure a led could top that but the initial set-up cost for led's puts them in the daydream category for now it looks like i got a little carried away back to the matter-at-hand im looking forward to more pics of your babies & more greenpoint info im gonna go to their site too later on which im sure will answer a lot of my questions

Hey y'all.
I fed them roughly 350 ppm the other day and so I upped the dosage a little because they seem to be loving it. My tap water is soooo hard, so I just used it only....its 450 ppm after 24 hours sitting out....ph'd the water to 6ish and we're good to grow!

And so it begins! =)

Quick update, they all look similar in structure, node spacing, leaves are same length. I am no expert by any means, but I believe that to be a sign of a good cross, but I am getting carried away. PH ~6, 450 ppm. I am debating on topping them soon or waiting till I move them to their 3 gallon final homes. Hmmm, decisions, decisions. Anyone have any input?
