I don't know (much) shit either, but I believe it's very important where the greenhouse is situated in respect to north, south, east & west. IE; Morning & Evening sun, cold fronts from north-northwest, etc. Placement of existing shade tress needs to be considered. If I had to chose, as much morning sun & southern exposure. Also, covering the floor with pea-gravel will absorb heat in the day, keeping the Babies warm-er at night. A plastic Kiddie Pool filled with water also absorbs heat, to help on cool nights. The floor needs a way to drain excess water off.
Check out businesses that deal with used building material, like windows, doors, (screen or solid core doors). Used doors makes great table tops. Buying "seconds' from a cider block Co. will be great for making raised beds. Find the dump spot for the Towns mulch pile, that will be a great base. Molasses speeds the bio-breakdown in the mulch. If you use no chems. or Poultry manure, a lb. of worms in the soil will build your soil. Hope this helped. Good luck.

How cheap do you want to go? You can build a Hoop House very cheap... here's a link to a site I got directions off of: http://westsidegardener.com/howto/hoophouse.html

Here's the hoop house I built from those directions when I lived in Cali:

Hey Fla. G. I made one of those. It was sooo cool. My design didn't work because, #1. I have Grandkids that like to hang from shit. But my design was exact with the exception that I had a PVC base with Tee's for the support, for the purpose of hooking up a water hose to the base, and small hole drilled in certain places at the top, so I would have something like a car wash looking contraption, to cool & water my Babies. The top ribs was too weak for the weight of the water. I should have went up 4' ft, 90 from there for about 3' ft. , 90 again to complete the 45 angle,(for each side), but have 2 top supports to tie it in, instead of one, about 1'ft. apart. It's fun to play with that shit.

Or just get 2x4's and a roll of clear poly, both of which you can get from your local hardware store. Just bury/drive the 2x4's in the ground about 6" into the ground first... A green house with plastic sheeting instead of glass is one big sail and they topple over very easily

PVC and plastic is cheaper then wood and glass. Yes, there is the wind factor.... but the one I built stood up to many a wind storm ( I used longer pipe and buried deeper in the ground). The whole roll of plastic cost about $28.00.. the PVC about $100... misc. supplies about $40.

While a professional Greenhouse with glass and all the bells and whistles is every growers dream... sometimes the cost is prohibitive.... which is why people come here and ask for cheaper alternatives .... DUHHH!

Hoop houses don't just float away in the wind if you build them correctly ;)

Use polycarbonate panels for exterior you can get them at home depot. Durable and better insulation then glass, and cheaper
