Green Organic Dutchman Gains Health Canada Cannabis Cultivation License

Jeannette VanderMarel and Scott Skinner, Co-Founders and Owners of Green Organic Dutchman
Federal Cannabis Production License Issued to the Green Organic Dutchman Ltd.

Ancaster Family Farm Licensed to Produce Medical Cannabis by Health Canada

ANCASTER, ON –(Marketwired – August 17, 2016) – The Green Organic Dutchman Ltd. is pleased to announce it is now a Licensed Producer under the Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR).

Scott Skinner and Jeannette VanderMarel are the co-founders and owners of Health Canada’s newly licensed cannabis farm in Hamilton, Ontario. Scott Skinner will be managing operations as the President and Senior Person in Charge.

“We are proud of our new and purpose built facility and are excited to begin producing organically grown quality cannabis for patients across Canada,” said Scott Skinner. “I look forward to working closely with Health Canada to ensure we produce a safe and high quality product,” says Scott Skinner in describing his exacting Quality Assurance program. “Our expansion plans include greenhouse and buildings, and we will maintain our eco-friendly, carbon sensitive design. With a 10 kw solar array and geothermal heating in addition to our reforestation efforts, we value ecological practices on our 25-acre farm.”

Jeannette’s daughter Breanne passed away in 2003 as a result of a severe epilepsy disorder, very likely Dravet syndrome. Breanne was never given cannabis as reports of cannabis for seizure treatment weren’t widely available at the time. “My hope is that cannabis medicines will help to reduce the devastating impact of seizure disorders,” said Jeannette VanderMarel, a Registered Nurse.

Angelina Adam of Ancaster will be taking on a management role with The Green Organic Dutchman Ltd. “Angelina’s attention to detail, integrity and honesty are great assets to the company,” according to Scott Skinner.

The Green Organic Dutchman Ltd. is a family farm, not a pharmaceutical company, that wants to produce a great product in small batches using craft growing, all natural and organic principles.

Now HC needs to license the other 400+ LP app's sitting in the pile, then maybe the competition will force them to produce quality product at reasonable prices?!?! We all know that MMAR growers can exceed HC QA standards without spending $M's in over regulated standards. These smaller LP's should be allowed in to fill niche markets that corporate MMJ will never be able to supply.

congratulations. Very impressive.
This is the part where everyone complains about you based on the fact they have no idea what you have done, what your plans are, or how good you can grow; out of ignorance and jealousy.
Haters gonna hate.
Congratulations!
only takes one to not understand and try and force their ways!!! (:

lets just see how compassionate they are with prices ...eh??? ;)

Congratulations, it's been a long time in the making. Nice to see a smaller mom and pop, non corporate facility finally making through all HC hurdles.

Itsme.
"big cannabis" is not inevitable. Most people who are inclined to use cannabis do so already and the supply is satisfied by independent small farmers. These big corps coming in to the already existing industry, spending fortunes to try and clinch a spot at the "big" table are still going to be putting out a product that will have to compete with regular Joe cannabis farmer who has been growing clean, top quality herb his or her whole life. Once the war is over and the fields are open the game will shift substantially, the value will change substantially, if the price drops quick and they still are in the red and have based their projections off of anything over $1000/Kg they are fucked.

Some here are just negitive and like to whine. No matter what happens they will find a way to complain. The government could say we are giving away 100 free grams a month and people would still complain. There's a sense of entitlement here, people don't realize how good the have it here in Canada. People in other countries get executed for simple possession. It's really a 1st world problem.

And the reason we have it so good in Canada is not by sitting back and letting our gov over look our rights. But if standing up for your and my rights makes me a whiner... What does siting back and going with what the government gives you make you????

when LP's produce quality and not crap, I think the love might come but some people are very angry at the Government forcing us into a new program and the extortion prices they charge while saying they're compassionate and for the patient.
why charge so much if it's "for the patient" but most patients can't afford their supposed medicine.
time will tell how they are now. hopefully they will figure how to grow so they don't need crap like cold pasteurization/nuking.
