those look really good. bummer about the one plant being a bit more
finicky, but i guess that's to be expected when you grow from seed.

I drop in cheapo water pump and drain and refill with it....i had drain valve come off and flooded floor lol

How long are you going to veg for before you flip? Will you be fitting the screen on before or after the flip?

I am flipping today. Technically, this is day 17 of veg (not counting seedling time - will be an even month from germination on Monday). I waited a bit to see that runt with the PH sensitivity bouncing back, but if I wait much longer, I can see things getting WAY out of control. It's a pain in the butt, but these are the BIGGEST young ladies I've ever had. I just keep trying to remind myself that there are FOUR of them! Growth has been larger than I expected, so I think it is safe to assume the stretch will be too. I will have to brace areas that I am bending and supercrop where I can to keep from pulling and tugging the trunk and roots in those little net pots. I can tell you that the main stems have NO give in them. The foliage seems to be a bit more fragile - easier to break leaves off with a crunch...guessing it's because they are FULL of water and so large. The lack of pliability (compared to my "normal" runts...lol) scares me a little.

Hey man! Just thought I'd pop my head in to see your latest photos. Aren't those leaves huge already? I really want to see how you train them in the SCROG. It could be challenging with the plants being so big.

Don't worry about the one time that your pH dropped to 5.3 -- not as long as it didn't stay that low for a long time. I've had pH drop lower than that just by the plant eating up the nutes in one day. (Then I'd just adjust the pH up to 6.1 or so, so that it didn't drop so low in 24 hours. You have some pH UP solution, right?) I'm glad to see that your leaves are darkening now.

I actually do NOT have any PH Up. I could have corrected faster if I did in that particular case. Otherwise, I haven't needed it after getting things where they needed to be. For me, PH keeps creeping up, and I just add a little PH Down with the solution I add back to the res daily. I am ordering some, because I expect I'll need it at some point. Funny how they don't make any SMALL bottles of the stuff, huh?

you can use white distilled vinegar to bring PH down and baking soda to bring PH up

First one's always the toughest... I feel better about it now. I have super-cropped before, but this stem was the size of a magic marker where I'm used to dealing with something that MIGHT be pencil sized (keep the dick jokes to yourselves, please...lol) I manipulated the stem right where I wanted it to bend until I got a little crunching. Then, while apologizing to the girl, bent the stem over at 90 degrees with the other hand while still holding the "crunched" spot with the first. Then, let go from the crunched area and lifted a screen string over. No yanking of the roots, net pots, or shifting of the hydroton. It takes much more time moving these paper sized leaves through my two inch holes. (Now, keep the 2-inch hole jokes to yourselves...lmao)

I keep getting things backwards, probably due to dyslexia! Right, the pH is supposed to go UP gradually as your plants eat their nutes. Not sure what can cause the pH to go down so much, other than possibly too high of a nute concentration.

It's beginning to look a little crowded in there, isn't it? Pot plants in hydro really explode. After they grow a while above the screen you can prune the leaves underneath, as you already know.

Stuck my 3 little ladies in a small tub used as a mini-DWC system. But instead of using a pump with sprayers or a drip system, I'm using an ultrasonic fogger in the res. It atomizes the water into microscopic droplets that are easy for roots to absorb. (But they have downsides, so I stopped using them a while ago, except for nursing seedlings along like I'm doing now.)

Fighting the girls a bit. I bend a branch, and it straightens back up over the course of a couple of days - causing the net pots to pull sideways - giving me concern about ripping roots. I am hoping the stretch stops soon, but I will be putting a trellis net across as a second layer. My panic has been increased by all of the "shit, this strain is a full sativa" posts I have seen. For all of my ScrOG friends, NO, this is not a good example of a ScrOG. The screen is mostly a support structure in this case.

We're going to need a bigger boat! I couldn't train things the way I would like, and it's a bit out of control. Panic justified...the stretch is, well...you see! I'm going to put in the trellis net and go on a super-cropping/tie down spree tomorrow. Downstairs clean up starting as well as a LITTLE thinning.

No need to panic bro..............just string you two levels of nets across the tent stakes, bend em, and weave them in..................Hell, thats the makings of
a good "jungle" right there..........................lol.................

In fact, Im about to do THE EXACT SAME THING right now in one of my Cabs.

If you want I'll post before n after shots..................give you an idea of what you can do.........
Mine are MUCH larger than yours.............will take 20 minutes to do it...................

I'm not really panicking - just surprised. At least they are all the same strain. I have been in MUCH worse shape before...lol. Pictures are always welcome! Let's see what you're dealing with.

Res change and some tough love today.

All that strap down to end up beyond where I wanted...lol. Pineapple chunk is definitely leggy. I will take a good solid look at what leaves need to go after the stretch finally stops. It CAN'T go on much longer. I'm at day 32.

I think you I saw that you said this is your first time for hydro....that's the way I want to go when I have a bit more experience with the soilless. Anyway, looks like you're doing really well by the explosive growth. I'll be watching.

I'm actually quite upset about the way it's going! It is WAY overgrown. Ideally ALL of my growth would be down below the lattice string, and I wouldn't have needed it. I am having trouble in the hydro, but NOT the troubles that I thought I would have. In order to KEEP a plant bent, you need support on the top, and the bottom. The net pots failed to hold up and torqued, so that I was just shy of having them get pushed down into the res. At that point, I abandoned the lower screen and just opted to use it as the support that the net pots couldn't be, and put in the lattice net. That hasn't really helped. Some is strain related, (stretchy, stretchy, stretchy, that I should have researched) but I am just holding on to my overgrown mess to see what I get. It is SO NOT something I'm proud of. However, the hydro side of things isn't as mysterious as I thought. I have had exactly ONE PH issue (self created) early on, no pythium - and I am a neglectful gardener. You have to change that res at least once per week, though. My complaints are from schlepping water and tie down issues for which I was unprepared. If I was on top of it, the results would be awesome! I think I'm headed back to Hempy World. All in all, it's been a great learning experience in the lab.
