They are amaranth. Very tasty grain and fun to grow. These are the smaller variety and get a foot or two. I grew some a few months back that got 5-6 foot. The full colas on both varieties are pretty cool though.

The leaves are edible too. Cook like spinach. Suppose to be loaded with nutrients.

Ya super picky about olive oil too. Getting some currently from a small family farm in Cali. Delicious but $$ though...Dont forget to season with cracked black pepper and kosher salt..
