Snapped a quick pick today, day 62 in flowering. Getting close now, not much longer to go.

Woah, looking nice! That's looking pretty done to me, though I usually let new strains go longer the first time I run them just to see how they finish flowering, but if everything looks like that I'd say you could pull them whenever you want. I rarely scope plants. I just wait for it to finish flowering, e.g., very little to no more new pistils, pistils have receded into calyxes and calyxes have swollen. That's just my way. I know you know what you're doing and those buds look great. Did you mention what kind of lights you use? I forgot if you did.

Hey Buddy, day 61 today in flowering.........I was really planning on taking down some of the plants on Thurs (9 weeks) and brought out a strong flashlight and the microscope today, looking for some amber in the trichomes.....and was disappointed with what I saw. The plants that look REALLY done, very little if any amber could be seen while a few plants that don't look nearly done are showing some amber already. Either way, on average I would say most of the plants are about 90% cloudy. There is some variation though. The stink is full on right now, the wife brings it up everyday. We went to the vet today and she was worried the dog stank too. LOL I found that very funny when she said it. Funny though, I don't smell a thing. LOL LOL I promised her I would look into Dr. GreenThumb's "Incognito" strain, which is supposed to have no smell- for Xmas time this year.

So, at this point I think I'm going to just wait and harvest everything at 1 time at 10 weeks. It's not my preference because it means a lot of work over a 2 day period (actually 4 days if you include cleaning and starting the next crop), but it looks like my future.

Again I was impressed with the tiny bud I took and smoked last week. I left it in the bowl and once or twice I hit it in the next few days and caught a good buzz- it just wasn't "developed" yet but I can see by harvest time, it's going to be top shelf shit for sure. I've already mentioned the dense, rock hard buds. Yield will only be average at best, but a nice bud to leaf ratio means an easy trim.

Plants are yellowing now, as I've greatly reduced the fertilizer and will probably cut it off completely from now on.........but I may add a bit of molasses this last week.
What are they smelling like?

That's nice of you to offer to grow a low odor strain for your wife. I'm not indoors so it's not an issue, but if I was I think I would have to politely convince my wife that it's necessary for me to grow strong odor strains for the greater good of the human race or something like that, ha ha. So, did the vet ask if your dog has been smoking the reefer? Ha ha.

Have you grown any of Dr. Greenthumb's strains before? I want to grow his ECSD. I read it's pretty spot on to the clone only and I've even read of a couple people who said they've got some plants that are even better than the clone-only is some ways.

I use HPS lights but the pic's are taken thru a filter so you don't see the yellow........

Smell is about an 8.5/10....not the worse I've done but it's up there.

I am exactly similar to you in terms of when I take plants BUT I'm just not seeing enough amber in the trichomes so I just thought I'd go another 5-7 day, it will only help I think. That particular plants is a bit further along than most of the others too. I was planning on going 10 weeks anyway so if the schedule allows it, why not?

ECSD is easily Dr. GreenThumb's best strain IMO.....at least it used to be. He's introduced some new things lately. You can message Dr. Gruber here on RIU, or search out his ECSD thread for all the info you'll need.

That filter is pretty rad. I never would have guessed you had HPS lights on. I thought maybe you were growing with something else or you have fluoros you turn on for pics.

I'm with ya on letting the plants go longer if needed. I've never felt bad about cutting a plant a little bit later. Not so long ago my whole garden was 87.5%-100% sativa genetic plants and patience was just part of the game with a lot of those plants. There's no point in putting in all the time we put into these plants to cut them a little early. Letting them go another week sounds like a good idea to me.

Are you growing another round right after this one?

And thanks for the info on Dr. GT's ECSD. Dr. Gruber's thread was probably the first spot I checked out for info. Dr. GT has a really good reviews for his ECSD everywhere I found info for it which was at least a few different threads on a few forums.

The light filter is actually a pr. of sunglasses I hold up to the iPad camera- it does a good job filtering the hps light. Go back up in the thread I show a pic of what's next, Citral Glue by the Ethos Group out of Oregon. It's another G.G. #4 hybrid mixed with Citral Skunk- check out that picture. I may cut a few plants tomorrow, I started getting everything ready for the job today. Some of the plants are dead ready- funny sometimes in the end how plants just finish up super quick. I cut a bud today, let in dry out in the hot car all day- I'll be smoking it ina bout 1/2 hour. I'll let you know how it goes........

Cut the earliest 3 plants today, I figure I'll go easy on myself and do a few each day making sure everything is cut by thurs, which is 10 weeks. Very strong lemony smell, buds look great and I still have some questions as to what will be the the final weight. I smoked a little hash off the trimmer and it was very sativa like, buzz was all in the head......but it also put me to sleep for 20 minutes holding a branch in 1 hand. It it has a high bud to leaf ratio so the trimming is very easy- I did three plant in less than 2 hours which is just about average for me. Not sure I'll bother with the hash off the trim thus time since I still have a bunch left from the last crop Zombie Virus. I'll get a few bud pic's up tonight or tomorrow.......

Meant to get a pic up, will do shortly.....slowly cutting as need be, i've cut 9 of the 24 plants so far. Instead of cutting up everything into small pieces, this time I've left most everything on the branches and am just trimming and hanging them- makes it much easier. I've upped my weight guess a bit, as I'm guessing I'm averaging over 2 oz per plant- I can see overall weight somewhere in the 3.5-3.75 lb range for the two lights- better than I originally thought. Stuff looks great overall, real bag appeal. Smell is 9/10, really strong right now with the room still operating and stuff hanging too. Can't wait to do a serious smoke test but I know people will go nuts when they see it. I'll also mention 2 straight winners from Expert Seeds, really high marks on this and the Zombie Virus hybrid last time. I'll definitely be doing some of their other stuff in my coming crops........pic up this evening.

Seeing banana's on almost every plant now as we are only a few days away from 10 weeks in flowering.......just a single banana though here and there. I haven't seen 1 seed though, in the 12 plants I've already cut- not worried a bit.

Everything chopped by Thursday......

Glorious grow bro just like ur others, gonna read the other thread u shared.shame about the nanners mate, ive only had em once with the dog fem with is known for hermie but thankfully ive not had that issue since.on the gg4 id the clone a few runs n never had a hermie. Infact ive found her to be quite hardy n I ran her with the exo clone n she was twice the size the whole grpw but the exo won hands down in my opinion as shes a far better smell, taste buzz in my opinion but the gg4 had the frost....and the name

The Dog by Breeders Boutique was my "tough grow" , especially if you buy the feminized seeds. They stated you could just pick off the few nanners and you'd be fine- well, they were the most 'herminized" strain I've ever grown. I had a thread on here on the grow, but i think it was lost when RIU had all their problems. Loved the strain though, even with 10,000 seeds, it was killer. Supposedly, if you take clones of the plants, they lose the hermie trait.

Regarding Expert Seeds, the main issue is there isn't much out about them. The strains I grew of theirs, I couldn't find another grow of them anywhere. It seems like some of their strains hermie, but the Zombie Virus hybrid was solid with no hermies at all and this strain, although there are a few banana's, I don't see any seed activity so they must be sterile. Their customer service sucks, they don't respond back often but they have asked me to send them pic's of my grows which they have used on their website. I was hoping for some free seeds too, and they asked for my address, but nothing ever came. They just came out with a bunch of new G.G. #4 hybrids, whoever is making these hybrids seems to know what he/she is doing.

Regarding this strain, overall weight is a main consideration for me and I was worried about it thru this grow. But more and more I'm feeling better about it. I took the day off from cutting today, but cutting 6 tomorrow and 6 Thursday and I'll be done. Stuff really look sharp, totally encrusted in resin like a good G.G. #4 hybrid should. Buds aren't as dense as a kush, but still have a nice feel and look. Smoke report up in a few days.........
