it's more likely that the founding fathers would not want any citizens to carry around arms, since the pretty much whole purpose of the second amendment was to repel king george should he decide to come back.
we have standing armies for that type of thing now.

Your ilk want to make it harder to attain weapons and restrict the permissible variations of firearms. Me and mine want it FAR, FAR easier to attain weapons and to eliminate many restrictions on permissible variations of firearms.
A "compromise" using your definition would be for YOU to give ground towards my wishes. Less background checks, fully auto weapons for all. As absurd as it sounds, that's EXACTLY what you just told me is compromise, except in your favor. Sorry, you may be used to that on the national debt, but it ain't happening with firearms.
