So me and my friends decided instead of smoking out stash we would make some brownies. Yay!
So we followed the instructions we found on a sight. We double boiled the cannabis butter and it smelled delicious. We used about 3 grams because it said to add about a gram per person.
We followed the instructions, never let the stuff steam, strained it right etc. etc.
We made the brownies and they tasted delicious. You could taste the ganja in them but you couldn't feel a thing. I had 4 and felt absolutely nothing. Does anyone know why this might've happened?

not enough ganja, you need about a ounce for a pan of brownies, how long did you let the weed cook in the butter before removing it?

Guys,

I've had good luck with cooking a 1/4 oz. into a cup of vegetable oil and then using that oil with one of those off the shelf brownie mixes. I break it up pretty fine and let it simmer in the oil about twenty minutes letting it bubble gently while stirring frequently, which on my electric stove top requires a setting between low and medium. I've found that if I add a half cup or so of chopped walnuts to the mix you can't even tell that they're any thing other than regular brownies. I cut the finished pan into 28 pieces and just one of them gives me a nice buzz but it takes a half hour to 45 minutes to come on. Three of them will make me end up taking a nap.

I've also simmered it in butter and then used that butter to make Nestle's Toll House chocalate chip cookies following the recipe on the choclate chip bag. I get pretty much the same results with that but it's a lot more hassle and you have to be a lot more careful while making the butter because it burns at a much lower temperature.

It's put a whole new spin on the concept of "baking" for me.

I did a lot like what Jack in the Bud described. We bubbled about 3 or so grams in butter for 25-30 minutes and used the off the shelf brownie mix to make the brownies. So if I just add more grass they'll work?

Yeah afterwards we were all like, WTF why didn't we just smoke it? But hey, it was an experiment :P

rj,

I've yet to come accross a store bought brownie mix that calls for any butter. Just use 1 cup of plain old vegetable oil and 8 grams of herb. Or hell man go for it and use a little more.

On the other maybe you've got to many preconcieved expectations of what the high is going to be like. It's a different buzz than smoking it. A lot more subtle and body oriented.

Ha we don't bake and we were standing in the store dumbfounded because none of them called for butter. Some old lady said that if we were gonna make pot brownies then we can melt down our cannabutter and use it just not make it too hot.

I have been smoking for years but haven't had any brownies. So i don't know exactly what it's like. But i didn't feel a thing at all. Not even a little bit. But we basically threw away 3 or so grams of quality grape =(

Besides being soluable in fat, THC is also soluable in alcohol. I think my next experiment is gonna be to take about 8 grams and put it in a pint of vodka, let it soak for a few days and then strain. My thinking is that the dosage ought to be around 2 or 3 shots of it in a bloody mary. Of course with that buzz it may be hard to sort out just what part of it's coming from alcohol and what part's from the THC.

Ha I'm not old enough to drink. But wouldn't the synergistic effect between the mj and alcohol be not good?

haha

drinking alcohol and smoking pot usually makes you knock out.

havent tried the green dragon yet.

heard it's much faster than eating a cookie though :)
absorbed much faster

good luck with that

So can i simmer a bunch of pot, in a bunch of oil, and save said oil to be used as needed in recipes? Will the THC degrade in that setting? Is it just better to make fresh oil every time you bake?
