Good thread but how can any grower get enougth cannabis out of a 1ft by 1 ft space to last them.A plant flowered at 1 ft would not fit in a space of that size.

Amazing Thread! You should all check out my 4000 WATT SCROG! with a 12 FOOT SCREEN! Its the Largest scrog i've ever heard of, lets see how it does!

This turned out to be the best solution for me. I cultivated 4 plants in a 3.5x3.5 poultry screen this last time around and I pulled 20 oz of some swwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeet bud. The screen produced so many 2nd and 3rd level bud sites it was insane. I ran a 400W cool tube sitting a foot from them. I've never smoked anything that amazing. Oh and that added 'bennie' with the SCRog is what I like to call the "candy". I pulled confection like clumps of these little buds at harvest. Really gets the most of my 400w man :)

Most bang for my buck---I'll go to a 600W this winter. Lost my AIs :( but I got bag seeds germinated from two very memorable smokes I had last year.

Wow. im super impressed. I started tonight's reading session knowing NOTHING about SCROG; I've always skipped past it thinking it would be too difficult, or complicated however, I am currently having regrets not doing it from the start as I have a vertically limiting grow space AND all the low wattage HPS lights i need. you have truly opened my eyes. i cant wait to start the next grow - ittl definitely be SCROG next time.

SOG is the best.
You dont get paid in veg.
I think scrog would be better for many large plants.
So lets just say this. A 4x4 area. You plant lets say 8 in that spot. Now i plant 50 and get paid in two weeks less.
I get two pounds and u only get 1. ANd i get it faster. Now the down side to this, is the number of plants according to law.
Now those plants might be a little crowded right?? I skipd the sog style for a vert sog style. I now do 75 plants "staged" around one light. It takes up about 4x6.5' of floor space. so thats about 3 per sq foot. Now i also have hieght of about 5-6 feet. Basicly a V garden. 6 rows on each side and there is two sides. So twelve rows of 6 and three more on a "bridge" connecting the V's.
That is 75 per 1000watt hps and im thinking of using two 600watters so i can bring them V close together so limits floor space. Probly half a foot. And 600 hps gives 90000 lumens at a foot away. A 1000watt hps gives about 140000 at a foot. SO two 600s give 180 000 lumens. The downside is addition cost. Now 75 plants im sure gives alot more that 16 will at a 4x6 area. 2gallon pot per plant. Double pot and no veg time giving you 150 insted of 75. Could it be done? 150for one light?
You should do a V garden with a scrog addition. If your crafty, it could be done.

Not sure I follow your reasoning. The article states that yeilds of over 2oz per sq.ft. are possible (2.4 oz. being stated as a max for 400w). That would be over 2lbs in a 4x4 space.

I also dissagree that SOG is necessarily faster. Yes, there are 2-4 weeks of veg time, but vegging would be in a seperate room (using clone mothers in a perpetual grow situation). A dedicated flowering room can produce in the same period of time as a SOG, and I assume you have a dedicated flowering room. The vegging in a SCROG does take up more space than a straight from clone SOG, however. I don't think it would take more electric power, since SCROG is all about efficient use of lumens, and (based on the article) consistantly produces higher grams per watt.

I like your technique; utilizing SOG in a way that maximizes light use. I hope you'll put up a journal on it.

I was going to use my 2 125 wat CFLs and 1 250 wat cfl.But I thinl I will invest in soms hps lights and then give it a go
Thanks again for the guide it will help me lots

I can barely fit two plants in a 4 X 4 area.
