Gonna Try To Be A Patient...

But I have some things that are holding me back.

No.1 is my parents. Im 19 and attending community college in California. Next fall I'm gonna move out and go to Oregon State University. For now, while i'm in california, I'm trying to get a medical card. However, my parents are super conservative, strict and unopened to new ideas. They hate tattoos, piercing, marijuana and liberals in general. Even though I've tried explaining it to them, they still think pot is harmful and a gateway drug.

So I ask you all this... Can I get a medical marijuana card without my parents finding out? They have my medical records, their names are under my medical insurance and my doctor is their doctor. Will I need all that paper work and consent from my doctor to get a card?

I think I just need a full detailed procedure of what to do and what ill need to get prescribed in California (San Diego). If any of you can help me out that would be awesome :3

Dude, pick up one of those pamphlets or cards for a "doctors rec" and go to the address...fill out the paperwork they give you and wait for the doctor...When the doctor comes in, tell him what ails you...I told him I had indigestion, as I'm a chef and I "taste alot", and thats what he actually wrote down...tastes alot...lol...then I waited for them to finish my paperwork, they called my name, handed me my recommendation, and I drove directly to the dispensary...If you're over 18, you don't need parents consent, and a LOT of places (most, i think) don't actually REQUIRE you to have medical records, so just go take care of buisness, bro...It's easier than you think

I met with my doctor for lestt than five minutes. We spoke very briefly about my osteoarthritis. The rest of the time he spoke of the government and their willingness to spread disinformation.

since u are an adult, they cannot tell your parents anything without your consent. it has nothing to do with insurance or your normal dr anyways. after u have it for a while and still keep your grades up and act the same, u could probably tell them. show them that it doesnt change anything

Id suggest not using medical cannabis as a way for you to get weed if you are just a recreational user.
theres no difference between medical cannabis and weed in california. its all the same here haha. and the whole medical thing has just become a way for ppl to smoke legally. every time i go to a dispensary, theres always someone there that i know doesnt NEED it

i dont really care what idiots think. of course theres going to be people that take advantage of the medical system. but that doesnt mean the patients that really NEED the mj are not legitimate. people like to smoke weed. if they see a way to get it legally, they are going to do it. u cant blame them.

what do u want them to do? not get a recommendation and risk getting tickets all the time? no, theyre going to spend 40 bucks and play it safe
