Golden yellow everclear wax?

I make my hash oil from evaporating green dragon and its always brown.
the everclear strips everything out of the plant in addition to the thc.

would rinsing the dried trim / buds through water then through everclear give it that beautiful golden yellow color
I think it would be easier to make into shatter and taste a lot better.. even though i love how my stuff tastes and smells.

i noticed that same yellow colored wax chilling inside my micro after it was filtered through the water.

Are you letting it get super dry before running it through extraction? Personally, I've only used butane, but a buddy of mine is deep into the extraction hobby and is back to butane after trying Iso and everclear. Just speculation, but an alcohol extraction acts more as a solvent which is why it strips everything including chlorophyll, and you can't get it as cold as Butane which is a large factor in the success and quality of BHO.

I have done an iso wash after a bho extraction to get a yellow crystalline powder. best stuff I ever smoked. ever. so to answer your question, I would say definitely yes. it is the fats/oils turning brown do to exposure to air. once removed you will be left with something much cleaner/pure. essentially a more refined extract of an extract.

so how can I get that stuff out? I use Everclear 95% grain alcohol..practically moonshine..
i leave the bottle and the trim in the freezer for a few days before i do the run but i want to try running it through water first.. all those fats / oils should be water soluble right?

and thc and cbd wouldnt be ?

It was a
hypothetical question prick. I'm trying to stimulate conversation here and so far no one seems to know anything.

I think it would be easier to make into shatter and taste a lot better.. - why would you think that?
from my understanding i think method 2 in the latest high times went over something like this, well not washing it in water first but getting golden hash from ever clear.

i have heard of water curing, but it could be an urban legend never seen it done lol

The only way I know to get a beautiful golden ethanol extraction, is using frozen quick wash techniques to keep the chlorophyll and water solubles tied up. http://skunkpharmresearch.com/qwet-extraction/

You can cleanup alcohol extractions gone bad, by washing with a non polar solvent and salt water. http://skunkpharmresearch.com/getting-the-green-and-waxes-out-afterwards/

Sorry, can't help but giggle that, Oakley made that his sig..

I agree with FD.. You gotta use frozen material, and real cold alcohol.

Perform the wash quickly, using a swirling motion..count aloud to 20 seconds, then separate material from alcohol as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

You must separate the maternal from the alcohol with a separate large holed filter, before refining through your coffee filter.

It sounds like you have excessive contact times with your primary solvent.

Good luck, and post back if more assistance is needed.

Best bet is butane, then finish up with iso/ec or whatever you like to use. That way most of the excess goop gets used too! Always heat and purge, you know its clean when it smells like flowers again. Good luck!
