Glass Slipper

Not a lot of info on these around so I figured I would go ahead and put something together from start to finish on this strain.

Glass Slipper by Reserva Privada Colorado, which is LA Con with C99.

Germing them straight in plain Happy Frog with perlite in it, 2:1, main soil will have a bit of all purpose espoma dry ferts in it along with organic feeding but these are just going into 36oz cups for now, ending in 5 gallon buckets.

Put them in today under my 400w MH, gave them a touch of dechlorinated tap water with a little liquid kelp.

Guardian of the flower tent, Indica, scoping out what he must defend.

Tents are home made obviously, nothing fancy but hey, put both together with mostly materials I had, only about 75 bucks spent between both, obviously better than what premade tents would have been.

Will post new pics as stuff happens.

Nice I'm excited, I might sample a few flowers, but after that I plan to turn everything into hash, just ice water/iso extractions as they are my preference anymore, trying to move away from heavy butane/plant matter inhalation personally.

5 popped their heads above the ground today, planted an Amnesia autoflower by Dinafem in there too, freebie I have been holding on to for awhile, if she sprouts I may just leave it in the 36 oz cup and let it go, probably only up-pot if I have nothing else to put. I've ran it before and it was pretty tasty smoke so we'll see how she does under 12/12 as there won't be room to keep her in the veg tent as it will be regularly kept full beginning here shortly.

So, odd question, never had to worry about this with totally separate rooms before, but using the tents right next to each other it has me a bit concerned. With the tents right next to each other and having no top or cover, a small amount of light hits the ceiling from my MH, should I be concerned about stray light finding its way up (3 ft+) over about 2 ft, and down another 2 ft into the flower chamber to interrupt night cycles? Seems like a stretch to me, I just can't tell for sure, but could be a pretty large problem obviously if that light has enough energy to interact with the flowering plants.

You can kinda see the setup in the pictures above but I will snap a few more tonight to get a more clear visual of it if needed.

I would take whatever precautions I could to keep light from interrupting a dark cycle. Some strains are extremely peculiar about light leaks. Plus, light coming through in a dark period can slow your flowering down I've found.

Best way to know for sure is close the flower room up with you inside during dark period + ANY light leaking in could cause problems.

Good Luck, I hope they release this strain to the masses.

Taking care of the leak today just to be safe, going to just throw up a tarp hanging between the two tents from the ceiling, should be sufficient.

Update on the plants, all 7 from the pack and my 1 Amnesia auto germed, though 1 of the GS was an obvious dud, disformed mutant with 1 sorry excuse for a cotyledon.

Culled the mutant this morning, rest looking good! Not going to leave them in these pots for too long, doing to toss them into 5 gal buckets in about a week maybe.

Good growth on all of em, went and bought an aloe plant today and tossed it in the veg room for now to break down in my mortar/pestle and use as a foliar and for cloning. Planning to top all of these at least once and will save at least 1 cutting from each to find a nice keeper or two, or three, hopefully anyways.

Spacing looks good, light is about 28 inches from the plants right now, bare bulb in the hood (no glass) so just playing it a bit safe for now until they are a bit older.

Hopefully the aloe plant does ok for now in there, never grown one before, but if not I have a spot in the yard to toss it where it should do fine.

Put my worm bin together today as well and ordered 1k red worms from uncle jim's, none of the local sources carry any for a few more weeks and I got tired of waiting so should have that fired up next week as soon as they get here, will be nice to not have to buy them anymore here before long!

Thanks! He is always sniffin around wherever I am, really want to get a female soon now that I have a bigger place and CO is just...awesome for dogs. It always makes me laugh when i call him and someone actually recognizes that his name, Indica, obviously means that his owner is a stoner, wanting a red/white female to name Sativa, soon...soon.

Started brewing some compost/kelp/molasses tea last night, will use tomorrow as drench and foliar with some fresh aloe juice mixed in. Growth is impressive, pretty sure there'll be some huge fans on these plants, first sets of leaves are already quite large.

Tossed them some of the aforementioned tea just a bit ago, drench and a foliar with some fresh aloe gel mixed in as well. Pretty sure I left my camera somewhere on the trail today while hiking with my dog, tried some phone shots but those are just terrible and sideways of course. Will get another one if I don't find it when I go back tomorrow, but everything is lookin' great, aside from some slight discoloration on #5, which I'm hoping this tea will stop. I will probably transplant into 5 gals here in a couple days once they dry out just a skosh. I watered down their final homes with a bit of the remaining tea cause fuck it, can't hurt anything.

I'm going to be topping all of these for 4 mains, might supercrop a bit as well, I don't think these will be overly tall plants so might just stick with the topping.

Got confirmation of my worms being shipped out today, excited to cut that out of the "shit I have to buy to grow meds" category in the coming months. While castings aren't expensive certainly, it still feels like throwing money away when I can make worms poop in my garage while reducing my garbage output at the same time for free!

Few updated pics, day 14. Have topped all of the Glass Slippers and started some LST today on the Amnesia Auto. They have also been transplanted to 5 gallon buckets. Doing so made me realize how badly i hate 5 gallon buckets, and how terribly inefficient they are space wise, so i went and picked up 6 (all the hydro shop had) Smart Pots and 10 of Aurora Innovations version, which is a few bucks cheaper per bag, made of recycled material, and seems just as good to me. Went ahead and popped beans in all of those as well, 10 Selene, 2 Cheese, 2 Heribei X Chemdawg, and 2 Sour Kosher. I'll put up a journal for them separately once they pop up.

Well, some kind of error on all of the pics when i try to upload, will look into it. I imagine it is something to do with the new format maybe?

Day 14 (5).JPG Day 14 (6).JPG

Apparently only wants 2 at a time but at least its letting me post them, probably related to the size I would imagine as it turns out that was the original problem. The bondaged one is the Amnesia Auto and the rest are the GS, responding well to the topping so far.

Filled my flower tent with a bunch of stuff and want to flower everything at the same time so going to let these veg a few weeks more while giving those a bit of time to veg in there.

All is looking great, good growth and no issues that are bothering me with any of them. Amnesia is liking the LST, and the Glass Slipper didn't mind the topping at all, great growth from them.

Did a bit of supercropping on the Glass Slipper over the last week or so, accidentally took one of the branches too far but a little tape and it is doing just fine, didn't even slow growth noticeably. Going to veg these for about another week while some other seedlings catch up enough to be topped then flip it all to 12/12. These are at day 24 from poking out of the ground. I am going to take cuts from all of the glass slippers tomorrow in case something knocks my socks off during flower. I fixed my clone/propagation area to maintain pretty much perfect humidity and most importantly consistent temps so should have some good success in there.

Quick update, just finished the first week of flower so I'll post some pics up here, these are under a 600w hps now in the flower tent, cuts taken of all of them in case any end up being outstanding. Amnesia Auto has been flowering for about 17 days now as well and is getting a decent amount of frost on it. Height differences require this to be in the 12/12 tent so we'll see how it turns out, never flowered an auto in 12/12 before, always used to just run them in with my veg under 24/0.

Glass Slippers had each of their tops re-topped a couple days before switching to 12/12 and the new bud sites are looking great. Some discoloration on one of them, having this issue with one of my other plants as well, not stressing over it, still good growth. Tossed these all a kelp meal tea with some coconut water and new growth is great all around, discoloration seems to have stopped progressing on older growth.

Interested to see how you make out on this one... I've been running a couple different glass slipper seeds as well. The first one I pulled down was very eye catching and yielded but ended up being pretty much flavorless, still decent smoke tho.

So far, here's my most promising, hope she has a little more flav than the last.
