Giving nutrients to autos?

These are blue dream autos in their 5th week. They are now flowering. Does anyone have advice on how I should give them nutrients or should I give nutrients at all. I have just been giving them ph'd water so far. Any input on this grow will help!

I usually start at 1/4 - 1/2 the strength the bottle says to mix it at and work up from there or feed the same str more often depending on how it acts

Yeh I mix an organic dry ferterlizer in water, shake well then feed. Don't have to worry about burn ether

Not experienced as the rest but here's my 2 cents. I'm on day 25 now now and I started with biobizz light mix in 5gal smart pots. I made the mistake of using 1ml of grow nutes per 1l on day 14. I got very slight nute burn and been using just PH water since. As mentioned, day25 now and they are looking good. From all the reads I think with Autos and nutes you need to be more reactive to the plants needs than proactive.

ya even with the light mix you shouldnt have to feed for most of veg ..... after you grown a few of them you know what to expect and dont have to wait for the plant to show sign of a def which is really just wasted time while the plant is eating itself and lowering yield at the same time rather run a slight tip burn then a def any day

Yeah hopefully with a few more grows under my belt I can start anticipating the plants nutes needs. Just nervous about my first grow, keep checking on them 3-4 times a day and it's becoming an obsession!

Lol ya .... Pretty simple really in soil ... A few mild veg feeds week 3-5 and start to ramp up bloom at roughly week 5 ..... A lot of people just start bloom early and don't use veg nutes. Autos aren't real demanding and a lot of times good soil and some good bloom nutes is all you need

I guess your probably about done with the grow but heres some input. I just recently did a bunch of experiments with autos and found for the most part they didnt need to be fed until usually mid flower. I did about 20 experiments with 8 strains and they all were very similar. When they did show signs of deficiency it seemed to always be N or Calcium but they don't take well at all to overfeeding.

Thanks for the input man! I started giving my plants half doses probably mid way through veg. This is where I started to see nitrogen toxicity through a lot of its life. Maybe next time ill try not giving any till mid flower like you said. Since then maybe at the start of flower one of the plants started to get a calcium deficiency pretty bad, it has spread a little bit to the other plants but I definitely notice a stunt in the yields. I could never figure out what caused the calcium deficiency or how to fix it. I probably have about 1-2 weeks left with this grow.

I've learned autos are pretty picky especially when feeding. It takes them too long to recover from it. It may be my style of growing but like clockwork most everyone of my strains showed calcium def almost immediately after flowering which seemed to be around 30 days from seed. If you're organic like myself just toss a little unsulphured molasses for the calcium, epsom salt if its magnesium def--if not organic add CalMag.

I have no idea if this is true or not but I read an article awhile back that seemed to be accurate and said that LED lights tend to cause plants to use more calcium than other lights. I use LED's but really can't say with certainty if this is a fact or not...
