Giant Leaves!

Ok so if you look at my most recent pics you may be able to tell that the leaves are spreading out pretty far and the leaves themselves are pretty big. I'm worried that it is going to get to crowded in there. Any ideas?

In hind sight Im thinking since the spacing is so close between plants that I should have started out with the light higher so the streched. But still I don't think that would be a solution.

Heres a pic...https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-pics/file.php?n=449&w=o

Thanks

Well hopefully they wont block light from the neighbor. If they do either relocate it or you could trim the leaf. Im not saying cut all the leaves off. lol someone actually did that on here. What strain is that? My ak47's are like that. They have long branches with huge leaves at the end. Its a short plant but it reaches out wide. Kinda a pita. I will try to take a pic of one and put it up here.

The only leaves that make the good hash is the leaves that are close to the bud and are all fuzzy with thc chrystals. The big fan leaves dont do much at all.

STretching is BAD.. always..

If I were you.. this is what I would do.. I would clone the two or three tallest plants.. and then i would wait 5 more days and flower all of them..

The 2 biggest plants.. especially the plant in the forground is ready to flower NOW...

I know that sounds obsurd.. but it is NOT.. your setup is perfect for early flowering and Horrible for late flowering..

Either way, when you decide to flower you should not have any plants that are taller than 4 inches.. yes .. I said it.. 4 inches..

still intrigued!!!

ok garden you sparked my interests. I was under the assumption that they should be around a foot when the flowering process begins. why 4"? seems a little premature to me (I a mstill a rookie though).

Well,,that is more of the old school thought.. More and more growers are flowerig newly rooted clones. The results are awesome.. and the same reults are true with healthy seedlings.. Usually, with 4-6 nodes a plant can be flowered with tremendous success.. soooooo many growers wait till their plants get 12-20 inches tall.. and then they can not provide enough light for the lower foliage...

Number of nodes is more important than height...

ok I think I understand. We are looking for smaller plants to flower inturn to utilize the lighting we have. trying to get the most bud out of our lights. I'll try this.

When you have aeroponics things happen a lot faster than soil. When I flower a 12" plant in soil I get a 2' plant at the end. If I was in aero and flowered at 12" I would have a 3' plant atleast. I can see 4-6 inches working out pretty good for your setup.

Now don't go jumping my butt because I could be off base just a bit, and I haven't read all the posts. So here goes!

Indica and Sativa have different size leaf's. Can't remember which is which, but I think indica has the big fan leaf's. With so many cross breeds and hybrids these days I think it is vey common to have one of or both size of leaf's.

Let's say your plant started out with the big fan leaf's, then you trimmed the plant and every leaf after the trim comes out small. Is it the mixed breeds or is it just slower to grow due to the trim? Something else to think about! Sorry.

Ok with that said, I grow White Widow and when I veg. my plant they have huge leaf's and very long stims, and all with great color and health. No lack of light in my grow room. So any way, after trimming the plant the leaf's come out smaller and the stims are shorter. Lack of light? Hard to say!

Just some more stuff to think about!

If I clone a couple plants and flower the rest I dont have anywhere to keep the clones while the rest flower. I think I will take your advice and flower in about a week. My youngest plants are just growing their leaves with 3 fingers, should I wait till they get leaves with 7 fingers?

hey tek...

In my gallery there is a picture of a plant with the NODES labled.

Clones take very little room.. You can have 20 clones under a small CFL in small trash can...
