ghb - this is how i grow

you don't wanna be cutting tops off this late in the game, that will harm your yield i would have thought, super cropping is a last resort really. can you not take the light up any more?

got a recent pic?
I can get about 4 more inches to the lights, the CP is between them so it doesn't sunburn but
if I take them all the way up now won't the shorts get less light penetration?

you can prop them up on something if need be, an upside down pot or something. i have plants grow into the lights sometimes ,it's a bitch but it also means that you have some big plants and big plants always mean big yield :D

hey ghb,

when do u start pk 13/14 and at what ml do u like? I am currently running 800 ppms @ 6.0 ph, and some of them been getting the claw, so haven't gone over 800 yet. Day 4 flower, and realized I didn't quite know for sure when to introduce the pk

it can be strain dependant to be honest, some need it more than others.

it is very salty and can cause burn early in the flower cycle which the plant never fully recovers from, for this reason i wouldn't recommend using it unless you know the strain, some are sensitive to nutes and some just drink them up.

for most 8-9 week indica dominant hybrids i would give 1ml per l for 3-4 feedings max, starting at day 15, or right around the time you start seeing fluffy bunches of pistils and the beginning of buds. with sativas it can be very tricky getting the feeding right and some will not perform well if they get too much early on.

if you have anything looking a bit funky i would leave the pk out of it's feed, for now at least.

Yea these are all new strains, completely untested by me prior to this, so prob should leave it out. The super silver hazes are the only ones, based on that, I would try it with as they are the only ones I haven't seen any clawing, or slightly burnt tips. Thanks for the advice!

like i said every strain is different, but if you dont see any buds forming i wouldn't give the pk yet. best wait at least another week.

it's hard to describe, but as the leaf sets start crowing and you see every bud site is formed, just before you see any resin, that is the perfect time!

that is why on 3 different 1l bottles of canna pk 13/14 i had 3 different instructions lol.
one said: use at first sign of flowers, another said: as flowers are forming but not before they wrap around the stem and join up (or words to that effect), and the third said: 3 weeks before harvest. i'm sure there are countless other instructions from the same company depending on who is printing labels that day.

i actually think its because a strong dose of pk can act as a ripener in late flower as well as a flower initiator used early on. i use bloombastic as my pk13/14 now

do it too early and the colas don't seem to fill out properly, do it too late and they won't get as big, they start to want to ripen when they are only brazil nut size.

it's why i prefer to grow a strain a couple of times times before i do a run of it, getting it perfect first time is hard work.

You ans. my ? before I asked thanks.
Next time try to be faster please. (lmao)
My PK isn't as strong, but my bud sets have completely formed so I'll go ahead and start.
I'll just leave out of my Thai plant.

I ended up hitting them with 5ml/ in 9 gallons of water. very small dose, at day 16. Crowned already, bud sites there. They seemed to really enjoy it, no burning or anything.

I'm using Hesi Coir 3-4-5, Hesi Power Clean enzymes, CalMag+, Silica Blast
and the PK is Hesi 0-9-7 the Coir nutes is no salts or residues.
:peace:

that is a low dose of pk, i would just go for half dose on the bottle and read the plants reactions, if they like it go for full strength.

now as for how often to use it is really a tough one because as i mentioned earlier too much pk at the wrong time can harm your final weight, i like to have a strong dose of pk early in flower and then give them a break and get the nitrogen level back up, then again towards the end i will give them another strong dose to ripen them.

i would stop using the silica when you use the pk and also slightly lower your base nutes just in case.

any budshots?

looking great in the flower room papa, i have a feeling your next run will be a load of monster plants :)
