Getting To Know The Ladies

So this is my tell me about you thread.

I probably wouldn't give out this much info but since it's not in the 'open' area of the board, it makes me feel little better.

Married with 4 kids and 2 cats. I love gardening of all kinds, I find it grounds me. Actually I like anything that involues physically creating something, cooking, building things, etc. My husband got a new tool kit from his stepdad on Father's Day one year.... cracked me up he slide it right over to me and said these are for you.

My family is crazy - we are a true group of misfits all in one house. My oldest is hearing impaired (yes I know sign language), my middle son is intellectually gifted but has ADD, my youngest son is musically gifted... does trumpet and is teaching himself guitar and piano at 11. He's definately mentally wired for music... I used to sing to him what I wanted to him to do so he would remember. My daughter (god I hate to admit this) would fall into blonde joke territory. Oh yeah ..... um my husband is amazing but he has a rare mental illness - most of the time he's high functioning, but there have been times.... But the really great thing about my family is we all love and accept each other for all of our good and all of our bad.

I've rambled long enough ..... what about you gals?

I'll join ya girly- I'm 19 years old with a 20 month old daughter who's just the light of my life. My bf is crazy and a dork, but treats me amazingly. (My current bf is not my daughter's father.. long long personal story but he's in jail) I'm a stay at home mother and have my own small business. I love love love to write, read, sew, play guitar, geek out on video games, meditate, SMOKE..and of course I absolutely love growing! =)

I am married with a 5 year old daughter and 2 dogs. I love gardening as you can tell :mrgreen:. I smoke lots of weed. I am also a rocker at heart, I like the classic rock most. I have a professional job, Insurance Broker and live in Ontario Canada near Lacy. :mrgreen::peace:

Is it time for my middle life crisis yet? And hey if men get sports cars what do women do, get boob jobs and tummy tucks?

We've got all the guitar hero's as well. =) But somethig about playing thundekiss 65 and symphony of destruction on gh1 just always does it.. lol.. and how the hell could they make an 80s edition without DEF LEPARD?! lol... all of them are great, but something about the songs they picked for 1 was just genius...

Every time I say my age everyone's like "o really, omg, i had no idea". LOL.. I'll take it as a compliment-- I guess I don't seem as dimwitted as my peers (thank god) lol...

I sew, my business specializes in baby/toddler clothes and diy altered band shirts. =) I used to do a lot of business on Ebay, but lately I've been working a lot less since I'm not the only one paying the bills anymore and because I've just been doing a lot of private orders lately.. but yea... lol..

Aww...ok.
I live in the country not far from Chiceh, with my hubby of almost 20 years whom I love dearly, have 2 cute little dogs and a cat.
I spend most of my time at home because that is where my heart is and my business (seamstress and make :roll: dogwear.:-|)
I enjoy the solitude and serenity and being home and also mediate and do yoga.
Like you ladies, I LOVE gardening not only weed but flowers of all kinds; I have gardens all over our property with clematis everywhere.
Like you ladies I also really enjoy music and play the keyboards, (piano) and sing (have mic and amp) Even though I read music I prefer to improvise.
Love the outdoors
Gosh ladies. We have a lot in common.
Except I am the oldest:?
I'm in my early 40's:mrgreen: but lovin' it.

Your family sounds fascinatingly gifted. Teaching himself guitar and piano AND plays trumpet at the age of 11???
That really is something.

Thats quite impressive that you can handle all of that.
I mean three kids must be a handful to start with but you really do have challenges. Well kudoos to you. Thats excellent. (And she knows sign language) Too cool!!!

Just the other day I was talking to my best gf that I have known since I was about 6 and her son of about that age starting playing "stairway to heaven' on his guitar and it brought tears to my eyes. For a kid that has only been playing for just over a year, it was awesome. Plus I love that song.:mrgreen::peace:

BUT I am wondering about the xbox game you have 'guitar hero.'
Is that a game that you plug your guitar into or just a fun game?
Hubby likes his xbox and plays war games and fishing games.

So do you play electric guitar accoustic(sp) or both?

I don't blame you for wanting to be at home. There's no place more comfortable than home. We have no children but our dogs are like are fur babies to us and are spoiled rotten.

My hubby treats me really well also. Sorry to hear about the ex in jail but happy that you found someone who treats you as you should be treated.

I'd love to play guitar. Guitar and piano are my favourite instruments.

Hehe - It's actually 4 kids total Lacy. I'm not sure how we do it ... when I met my husband he had a few gray hairs...... We are a blended family been together bout 7 years now and he's getting close to completely gray :-) He asked me last night if we could kill just one as an example to the rest.

Oh an guitar hero is a game that comes with a little guitar that is the controller for the game. YouTube it ..... you can see what it is. I bet your husband would love it - mine does.

Yes he sure would like that guitar hero. He loves his xbox game and usually when he is at that I come and chat here. I'm such a chatter box that i guess he's glad.:? Thanks for telling me about it girly.

The other day he pointed out a lonesome hair on his forehead and wondered why it was there.

I told him that it just didn't appear.......

Hey Lacy,
I like to write a lot of stuff, and it's really all over the board.
Posted something I wrote the other day. https://www.rollitup.org/toke-n-talk/46116-dumber-america-our-failing-educational.html (super long tho.. lol) But then my journals and such are written a lot different. Write poetry when the mood strikes and used to write a lot of grotesque Marque De Sade type stuff (don't really write like that anymore..im much more peaceful now..lol)

As far as the ex. Glad it happened. Any man who's in there 20's and sleeps with a 13 yr old should be LOCKED THE FUCK UP. And I'm glad I found out now who he really was rather than later, also better for my daughter since she was 6 months when it happened...

Played clarinet when I was in school.. lol.. god did I just admitt that here? Absolutely love playing guitar, but I dunno- it's a really personal thing for me, I don't play in front of anyone either.. I have a 76 gibson flying v (silverburst) an ibanez iceman (black) and a full stack marshall... god I love my babies.. what kinda guitar you playing?

And stayin' home is def. the way to go.. with or without kids, who wouldn't wanna just be at home? lol :blsmoke:

I appreciate good writing and when people are passionate about something it shows. I didn't read it all but will do later.

Sorry to hear about the ex but it is good news that you found out sooner than later. He should be in jail.
I have had bad experiences in the past but I'm so not going there. lol

Yes you admitted to playing clarinet. Ha. funny.
Music is a personal thing for me and I don't like playing in front of people either. I don't play guitar...keyboards
Always wanted to learn guitar but haven't YET. Maybe someday i will and we can chat about chords and stuff.:mrgreen::blsmoke::peace:

Yes i have since you on the boards but have never met you either. iIam glad we got this forum going. I think it will catch on eventually. Nice meeting you Hns:mrgreen::blsmoke::peace:

Thanks Lacy, maybe sometime you can show me some of your writing sometime. =) I agree, I love expressive writing-- you seriously can "feel" a difference when you read it...

LOL.. sry.. totally misread that..:joint: guitar is so versitle- if you ever decide to try and learn, I'm sure you wouldn't regret it. :blsmoke:

The guitar is the only instrument I can not play. I have one and have tried to learn but for some reason I just can't get it. Only guitar here for me I guess, lol. I can play all brass instruments, the trumpet and french horn are my favorites. I can play the sax and clarinet as well as drums. But those damn strings, just can't get em, lol. In my younger years I was in a Drum Corps for 10 years, travelled and competed all over Canada and the U.S. Music is in me, I am always humming, singing, whistling or whatever. I got the music in me, lol. :mrgreen::peace:
