It is true that none of us alive had anything to do with slavery of blacks in America - but it is also true that as white males we enjoy a significant amount of hidden privilege. Privilege that is undeserved, as all privilege is.
Many people say affirmative action is unfair to good students - I think we are missing the point here. The point is that our educational system is unfair to good students. Every student deserves the same opportunity regardless of the income of her parents. We need to abolish the current funding system for public schools and make education more affordable and accessible to everyone who wants it. We can easily afford to do this as well as a universal healthcare ala France, if we stop our hegemonic imperialist aggression.
Corporations and politicians know that education strengthens and empowers a labor force and that this makes it harder for them to exploit. Why do you think we can barely afford to pay teachers allover the country but we seem to have an endless cash drawer for Halliburton and all the other contractors in Iraq swindling the US tax payers?

And by the way - we already live under a form of fascism. The US Govt taxes us and then subsidizes specific industries. Some of these are strategic, some of these are favors to industries that purchased representation. For example, the US signed NAFTA and then dumped a bunch of tax payer subsidized corn on the market to manipulate the price of corn for Mexican farmers. The result was the bottom fell out of Mexican corn crops, farms shut down, people moved to cities and realized there was no work so they started coming over the border even faster than ever before. This is exactly what big business wanted - an easily exploitable never-ending supply of desperate and dehumanized workers who could be threatened with ICE raids if they ever disagreed with the boss about their minuscule pay checks.

We don't have democracy now because we vote for who gets what seat in our authoritarian hierarchical government - we do not make decisions and therefor do not have a democracy.

Your statement is all encompassing and bullshit. A small select segment of society is priviledged and you claim white males have a significant advantage? Who do I contact to get my white priviledge? I got missed somehow. I worked hard, educated myself with my own money and I didnt get as far as I should have.
I'm going to wave my magic wand and make us all equal. Black people are no longer waist deep in shit. They are just like white people now, knee deep in shit. Should black people be happy now?
