Germinating with shot glass method Q

Currently germinating two seeds by paper towel method and two by shot glass to compare lengths of germination time.
So the rule with the shot glass method is to place seeds in water, wait 24 hours or until it sinks. But one seed sank within 6 hours! So is it safe to place my seed into a rockwool cube now or wait till it absorbs alittle more water?
Thanks:blsmoke:

I have two sprouting out of their domes in three days. I put them in the cup of water and waited until the taproot started to appear. Then I planted them.

Sinking really doesn't mean a whole lot. Most of the time it means it is a good seed, but not absolutely.

Good luck!!!

Don't let that paper towell dry out. Use balanced water too!!

Bumped the other seed and it sank too...very impressed with my seeds from Lowlife autoflowering hybrids. great looking seeds and sizes. We'll see how these plants grow and smoke :)

Yeah, bumping them does help a lot. Mine all sunk. Had 7 to start and set the cup down in a warm area by my pellet stove. My chi decided that it was drinking water and drank one. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR At 10 bazillion dollars a seed, that dog......one of these days........

Anyways, all my seeds cracked except Runtly. Runtly has a small strip of green, but we will see. As soon as the taproot comes out, plant em root end pointing down.

I'll be watchin and a hopin for ya!!!

Try saying girly things to it...........
