Germany allows pain sufferers to grow cannabis

A court in Germany decided that pain patients are now allowed to grow cannabis. This licence only applies for about 300 people at the moment and these patients already had a licence to buy cannabis from pharmacies which imported the cannabis from Holland or England. The monthly cost of the treatment for one patient is somewhere between €500 and €800 ($670-$1070) which was a main reason for the law suit initiated by a group of chronic pain sufferers. Such a sum is not affordable, especially because most pain sufferes can't work and the health insurances don't cover cannabis treatments.

This decision won't change anything for the most people who could benefit from medical cannabis but it is a step forward. The situation in the US and other countries with the recent experiences in this field are a good example which can't be ignored anymore. I hope more people will wake up and end the war against this great plant.

For some people in Europe it is very hard to accept that Colorado is NOT full of 13-year old marijuana injecting wrecks without any teeth in their mouths since weed has been legalized.

a) "wait... so... then what have i been injecting this whole time?"
b) "marijuana injecting? ...challenge accepted."

Wasn't sure which response to go with, so take yer pick.

I remember reading a link here in RIU about injecting marijuana in the last few months.
Some government scare tactic page.

Pretty funny to read.

Why do people try inject weed when smoking is essentially "mainlining" via the respiratory system? It takes what, 1-10mins for a high to peak after the first hit?

Junkies inject cos they're junkies (and heroin is shitty to smoke I've heard)...we're potheads, let's keep the distinction distinct.

Those look so nice...

Needles though, no thanks. Only reason i've never done heroin (or anything else IV)

Permanent physiological addiction/dependency? Meh, whatever.
Needles? GO FUCK YOURSELF.
smart. I gotta the hep C from a needle......I think. hard to say. I was getting a tattoo from a Haitian immigrant, while shooting up, atop a prostitute. :)

lol.

well, i mean... i didn't mean to imply anything was wrong with that... just that i don't/can't do needles.

I have no problem with other people not having needle problems.

Last time i had to be needled was about a decade ago, sliced my hand open while accidentally shattering a ceramic bowl, had to get a tetanus shot and local anesthetic... the whole dizzy/nauseous/sweating thing happened. No good. A high would have to be AMAZING to be worth that.

I'm pretty sure i've smoked opium before (in/on/with weed)... or at least that's what i was told it was. It was a long time ago (maybe 15 years?) and i don't even remember how it felt. I've also shared a few "primos" in those days... but aside from those very few experimental experiences, and a few more experiences w/ shrooms and what was allegedly lsd, i've stuck to the cannabis almost exclusively. The cannabis is all i need, in that realm of stuff (and maybe the rare occasional mild/moderate shroom journey).

I found when I was younger MDMA was my drug of choice.

MDMA and the Chemical Brothers...excellent.
