Dont see many Americans coming to Canada to shop, mostly the other way around.

it dont help that we need a passport to cross the bridge these days. going to the canadian casino was a big thing when you could use a birth certificate. the drinking age was lower and the exchange was usually better for having a good night.

You've never been to the busiest corridor between the US/CAN border obviously. Anyone with half a brain wouldn't go south an exchange CAD up 33% to USD to "shop"

Check out Niagara region statistics. Restaurants can't keep up to the demand

just an FYI. America is all about taking in foreigners, even Canadian ones if you guys wanna live in the land of splender and cheep gas.

I actually look at the benifits Canada has such as healthcare and working hours and all that good shit and think canada looks pretty nice except all the cold and the gun control bull shit. I'm sure their are other drawbacks but it don't seem to bad.

Back to gas. Think regional, provincial, federal taxes on the fuel you buy compared to US.
Plus the 33% exchange/low dollar. The HST, and if you're lucky, out in Vancouver Island, you get a nice carbon tax on top.

Doesn't help we ship our oil south, then buy it back refined either.

Not to mention ppl seem to correlate low OIL prices to gas prices which is wrong. Two separate products.

Then there's the futures trading.

So many factors...

I'm 1.5 hours from the Niagra border...

Our government charges us duties to keep us from spending our money in the states...because even after exchange, its cheaper.

I do? Who says I don't live in Vancouver or Toronto?
Maybe I'm informed in the regional markets unlike you. IDK?
No redi Jedi you fool. You're telling him he has no idea what's going on in his own back yard? No wonder you can't make much sense from my comment.

You're more than welcome to come to the melting pot, just bring a work ethic. My gas is 2.17 currently just to throw that out there.. 2.30s right off the highway. If you don't like where you are you always have the freedom to move..unless you are really trying to change how expensive things are.. In which case a weed forum isn't going to get you where you need to be...best of luck

Lets say I'm less then 20 mins from the border

Government actually INCREASED under the Harper government the amount you can spend in the states and bring back.
