I have heard of this technique called gas lantern and I am wondering if anyone has any results with an auto flowering strain? Pics would be nice if any. Thanks.

i dont think it will have any positive effects .... gas lantern is used to keep a plant in veg without running a light for 12+ hours ......... i cant think of any reason to use this method on a auto ..... just my 2 cents

I only am asking because I have other plants that aren't auto. I would like to let it flower with them instead having to flower elsewhere.

it would prolly end up the same as a auto on 12/12 ..... it will grow and finish under almost any lighting

gas lantern works for vegging but would be a poor choice for a auto plant ...as i understand it a auto would benefit from 16-18 hrs of light per day as this promotes rapid growth....

Well,, it is what it is.
I'm running 5/1/5/2 repeat. Considered (by me) a broken 18 / 6. With 18 hrs. straight the plants get droopy towards the end of cycle. With the gas lighting they stay perky all the way.
Doesn't seem to hurt anything, they grow fine and maybe a little more. Tricks build as usual. Certainly look healthier.

Long & short?
Does no harm,, and they look nicer. But not by a hell of a lot.

It gets 13 hours of light that's damn close to 16, and they look great to me, just want to keep it small scale. Until the purple haze and white widow come in ;)

Normally i can imagine that you will just get smaller yield (about ~70% of what you would get with 18/6 if i had to guess). Other than that there should not be other things troubling you. I am inclined to try the gas lantern routine too. Seems pretty cool.

I have started using the gas lantern routine for my last three yields . I also wondered about the effects on an auto so I got myself a auto lemon too try it out .

the results after 4 weeks were great it is a healthy plant after 6 weeks it started to bud . I got 4 once from it ! as this was my first auto I was pleasantly surprised !

So I guess the answer Is yes it works !

In general the gas lantern I find has had a better overall impact on my plant vitality and health and I will go out on a limb and say a better yield ( as I am relatively new at growing I could just be getting better ) but the savings running 6 x 600 watts hps is worth it alone

This gas lantern, is it really a "gas" lantern like on the ones on the driveway? Might seem like a silly question, but in my book, if you don't know the answer its not a silly question...

youre just giving enough light in the dark period to keep photo's from vegging so instead of running 18/6 youre running the light less but split up in smaller intervals..... it shaves a few hours off and saves money and the plant is tricked into staying in veg
