I wanted to see if these lights could pull of a great grow or if they were crap lights as many assume.

See details and photos attached. Stay tuned.

4 GALAXYHYDRO LIGHTS 300w model non-dimmable, simple on/off. Pulling 182 from the wall each. Running typical 18/6 - 12/12 cycles. 9 week Veg. 9 week flower.

A build out for a climate controlled grow room. Will be running the Galaxy hydro LED to see what they can do. Growing molly wop, a Girl Scout Cookie cross from L.A. Growing in a custom built 8x3x7.5 insulated room, with r-12 foam insulation. Temp and humidity controlled with inkbird relay controllers, thermostat and hydrometer. One 4" exhaust fan on a recycle timer, 1 min on 6-10 mins off depending. Exhaust ocasically hooked up to the dehumidifier output on the inkbird to aid in humidity removal. Humidifier running as well on humidity output on the inkbird. AC hooked on the tempature ink bird controller. 18" hurricane oscillating fan on ceiling pointing down over canopy, with secondary 4" hurricane set speed two in a corner. Oscillating fans run 24/7.

Veg climate early:
76-78F / 66.5-76% RH
Veg climate mid to late:

Flower climate early:
77-77.8F / 60-68% RH
Flower climate late (last 10-14 days)
77-77.8F / 40-50% RH

Growing in 10L plant logic pots with 60/30/10 blend of coir / peat moss / perlite.

Using RO WATER starting EC of 0.10. After feed is added EC is between 2.0-2.2 for a Delta of 1.0-1.2.

Custom nutrient recipe.
Made from raw fertilizer salts.
Values in ppm.

Flower recipe:
Posted later, not sure what I'll do here yet. Probably run veg mix with a higher dose of the B stock concentrate for a couple weeks.

Irrigating 2x per day. Totals ranging between .2-1.5 gallons depending on size. Getting 15-30% drain every other day. Leaching with an EC strength of 1.0-1.2 every 5th day or so.

6 sprays of foalir zinc and mangense per cycle.

Running beneficial bacteria every 7 days.

4-6 plant grow depending on how it goes. Started off with 10 clones. Will be weeding out the weak one from there down to 4-6 plants.

53 days in Veg. Got the dehumidifier hooked up to the controller so we can keep the RH lower in flower. It's been 8 weeks since transplanting clones. Going into flower mode @ week 9 of veg.

Dehumidifier is about 540w at the wall. It's a fridigid air 50 Pinter. But cool thing is the water it collects is RO so it can go right back onto the plants. Pulling roughly 6 gallons out of the space per 24hrs to keep RH @ 60-68%

If you haven't flipped them to 12/12 yet you are going to run into some big trouble when they triple in size....

Almost 7 days into flower now and the GALAXYHYDRO lights are preforming decently so far. This is an 8x3x 7ish space. Ill post some pics of my light meter, when I get it back this week, under a 1000watt hps vs the 300 watt LED this week. Should be interesting to see PAR numbers.

They have grown 3+/- inches week 1 of flower. Marking wall behind center plant.

Humidity got up into 80's for 2 hours yesterday. Didn't dump the dehumidifier on time. Need to hook up the stinkin drain line.

Heaters in now to keep things from getting to cold. A/C should be done for awhile now.

Still running the same mutes as veg but @ different ratios of A / B concentrate. will switch to "flower recipe". At end of week 2.

More pics in a week.

3 weeks complete tomorrow. Things seem to be stacking up nicely. Getting frosty. Well see how they develop...

Correction to above: this variety has a 9-10 week flower time.

Now @ week 7 of flower. Molly Wop Girl Scout cookie cross. 8 plants.

Not really looking like they are going to fatten up under these lights..?

Trichomes are all clear under 20x loupe.

Phenotypes among these plants are interesting.
3 of them put out tons of red hairs @ week 4.5, while other 5 are just now in the last 5 days have shot them out.
Color Sheen on leafs are much glossier and branches seem more even in total canopy height on first 3 plants. ...

Aroma: Vey earthy smell with strong sharp odors of sweet fruityness with a slightly diesel aroma. Earthy and fruity are predominant.

Recap:
See first post for all details, but here's a recap of the grow so far:

- Test to see viability of 300w galaxy hydro LED.
- Forgot to mention this is my first grow.
- Grow lettuce professionally, thought I'd give this a whirl.
- Fun fact: I haven't smoked in 6 years.
- total veg time was 8 weeks.
- Coir / Peat / perlite substrate blend in 10L pots.
- Total 8 plants. Topped 2wice.
- No extensive training given.

Photos taken through LED glasses to lessen the bright purple glow.IMG_0927.JPGIMG_0936.JPGIMG_0930.JPGIMG_0931.JPG

I took the PAR numbers I was mentioning some posts awhile back. I

1000w single ended:
10 inches: 2570

Galaxy hydro LED:
2 inches : 1123
8 inches : 367
10 inches : 246

Nuff said.

I don't think anyone has ever said that you couldn't grow weed under blurple LEDs. I've grown multiple plants under different types of blurples and you can get decent numbers with them, but there's always something missing in the blurple buds. Their smell and flavor is never as complex or deep and the high is pretty flat and boring compared to buds grown under CMHs, even my micro grow buds that were grown under 4x20w 4000K LED spots were enjoyed by people (couldn't sample them myself due to legal stuff). So yes, you can grow weed under cheap as hell eBay fixtures, if you really want to.

They do work well with other types of plants though, cherry tomatoes for example were very sweet and plentiful under a Mars Hydro. Here's some chili plants.
