G8LED Party Cup SOG 20x36" Double stacked

Like I said in one of my other threads that I need to update as well once I got clones rooted I would start a party cup SOG under a 240 Watt G8LED light

Setup:
20x36x62" Tent. Shelf in middle to split space to two growing areas.

Lights 2 x 240 Watt G8LED lights.
Veg/Bloom model. Each pulls about 160 real watts for 320 total real wattage.

Plants 64 Blue Dream and Agent orange clones in 8 rows of 4 on each shelf being 32 total per shelf. I was going through all the roots and didn't have enough with good roots to go all one strain and I wasn't paying attention when I was doing this so they got mixed up too. It will be fine though because once they start growing the leafs are different and also when they are flowering you can completely tell the difference.

16oz party cups. They are clear so you can see roots. This does lead to a chance of algae growth but it normally doesn't form until after a few months. I got them almost free so I am using what I got. Each Cup has lots of drainage wholes around the bottom and 4 on the bottom.

Soil will be just Fox Farms Ocean Forest stock

Nutrients will be BioBizz Line
Vegging: Grow/Fishmix, Alg A Mic, Bio Heaven, Root Juice and CaMg+
Flowering: Grow/Fishmix, Bloom, Topmax, Alg A Mic, Bio Heaven, and CaMg+

The Water

My water comes from a well on the property and it has a lot of minerals. Base PPM is already at 350-400 (water softened). I have used water softened water with no negative effects but it does seem to have a higher than normal salt content though it removes some of the minerals. For this Grow I will be using filtered well water that did not run through the water softener. I have an RV filter that attaches to a hose http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BEDNXTW/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Have not tried to use these yet and figured this would be as good a time to start as any. I will update what the PPM is after being filtered bellow at the start of week 1. Turns out using hose water that is not water softened even with a filter the ppm is about 500.

The Plan
Start plants vegging for 1-2 weeks depending on root growth and size for 24/0. Turn lights off for 24 hours (I have found that this helps in speeding up the switch to flowering) Run 12/12 until done. About 10 weeks or 12 weeks total with vegging.

Watering schedule will be every other day since those party cups tend to dry out pretty fast but I don't want to over water to promote good roots.

Since I used clear cups I will be rapping them with foil before the next watering. I already had them so I figured I'd used them but now that I think about it I probably should have just got new ones that are not clear.

Comments/Advice
Feel free to chime in at any time and any advice you can give is welcome.

Week 1:

Plant clones into cups and water with filtered well water with a PH of 6.2 and 500 PPM

The second watering I will add Root Juice and Alg A Mic

The 3rd watering I will add Root Juice, Alg A Mic, and Bio Heaven

Goal:
I Forgot to add a goal for this. While I mostly want to see how this works out I do want to try to get at least 7-10 grams per plant. I believe this should be achievable after looking at other peoples party cup grows. Even if I only get 5 grams a plant I think it would still be successful for the size of tent.

Transparent cups? hmmmm

Roots want to be in the dark, so a slight rethink needed, me thinks/

other than that, it looks good man.

Yeah I added in the plan I will rap them with foil. Didn't think about it until I was half way into potting them all and I didn't have anything else. Foil should solve that though.

Sorry, missed that.

I would just use a color cup to cover up the transparent ones. ... I would put 2 holes in the sides of the outer cup and holes in the bottom of the inner cup. This would give it a small res.

Foil will work though. If you do choose to go with that option, Foil tape would be best.

Either way. Good job.

That is a good idea and way less work than covering them with foil. Will have to buy a pack of colored solo cups

Update Day 5

So this is after 5 days of vegging. Looks like a lot of improvement for only 5 days. What do you think?

Here is a pic of one of there root improvements. Just grabbed one at random.

Your grow looks good :) The clear inner cup seems be pretty useful for inspecting the root systems of the different plants.

I got a lot of people I grow for and have the paper work to back that up. That being said plant limits are kind of a dumb. If you were to grow 4 very large plants you'd end up with a much larger amount of medication. Size of the plant should honestly be taking into consideration since having a large amount of small plants that are never going to get big shouldn't somehow put you into some arbitrary number of plants you're legally allowed to have. Anyway in California the state supreme court ruled that SB 420's limitations were unconstitutional. None the less I'd stay under 100 plants in general because of the minimum 5 year of jail time under federal law.

On another Note I will post an update later today if I have time.

Update Day 17

So I mixed it up some. I was going to just start flowering but after looking at some of their roots and how stretched some of them were I decided to cut any roots that were extending from the bottom of the inner cups. I also topped all of the plants except for possibly 2-3 small ones.

I didn't take a picture of the before topping of the top. I realized when I had 3 plants left to top so I only have one of the bottom.

These are of the plants after being topped. Some that had tall side branches or were already growing in V's were topped on more than one branch.

The plan was originally to already start flowering but after looking at them and thinking about it. It I wanted to top them so I'll have to veg for another week or two and then I will start flowering.

I just watered them with Bio Biz fish mix for this time around. I find it helps with recovering from being topped.

Do you think you will LST them down at all?

Watch the stretch in 1st weeks of 12/12...those party cups get top heavy... :)

Gonna be a nice looking jungle. :)

LOVE the shelf idea man.. there's creativity.. give your self a pat on the back.. this is what I like to see, people doing instead of complaining.

with the clear cups, you will get algae, but all I understand is it eats some of the nutes.. nothing more.. and there a bitch to scrub out more so then a normal rinse / cleaning
