Grew the pure ak a few years ago. It was decent but nothing great. Yielded nicely and had a short flower time. I am growing a red purps right now, but it is not much past the seedling stage right now, so I really can't tell you much. Stowandgrow grew it and posted a pic. Here is a link to it.

Pure AK was solid, nothing spectacular but worth the 7 bucks? or whatever I paid for it.
If they ever work out the March promo I will be trying the red purps.
Back in the early 90's around 92/93 a deadhead buddy of mine brought back some buds from the show that were solid red. Not one other color in the entire bag. Calayx's, leaves, hairs, etc, all red. I have been looking for it ever since.

There's some Pure Ak in there, 3-4 grows of it before I moved on. I found a couple nice stinky phenos the rest were more meh. Good yield though like the others have said. Thinking about grabbing some more and seeing what I can do with them in Organic soil and better grow space.
The plants I did under CFL's were the best out of the 6 or so seeds I started. Worth the money for the seeds like Althor said. Very good beginner strain IMO, it was one of my first and I managed to finish it
