Temporary grow room. Smells like neem. It's so effing loud in here but once i close the door it's incredibly silent. Pics of the crop after lights out. They began flowering by season change outdoors. So, i transplanted the 4 biggest into 5 gallon pots. 2 are 50% aerobic compost and the others are 33% compost.


Ummm idk that anyone has seen these plants, so this'll be in vain haha.

Big reflective tent is next weeks project. As is making a cloning/vegging box.

Mainlined and just tied them down. Theyre in the kickstart of flower but wrre in the back of a moving van, lol, for 2 hours. And tomorrow they have to go in the hot AF attic for a few hours... hmmmm gotta think this tid through. Probably going to crack into the patched up part on the places AC unit. Der

so i picked up some beneficial nematodes for the worm bin and potted plants. i thought i would be able to use a rosin press screen to filter out the nematodes from the water but as it turns out, a rosin press screen wont even pass water H2O.

well anywho, i found full spectrum chips for 9.9$ a piece theyre on the way from the prompt china. I have the two heat sinks from a $14 goodwill car amplifier. i also got a nice 40w audio transformer out of it. 1:5 turns ratio, same gauge wire on the primary as the secondary. good find at the good will. Tube amlifier in the werks?!? you betcha'

i drilled each heatsink for 3 chips and 3 lenses but ill only put two on each. i actually tried 6 of these lights pickd below using these two heatsinks. i ran them at 3A each and they blazed the heatsinks. even with 3 pc fans. so, i have a plan to drive these next it'll be the "ancient chinese secret to powering empowering LEDs" thread in indoor gardening section. pretty damn cheap and can be dynamic in its functionality. half power, full power, one/other spectrum, both spectrum. i mean i could walk you through flashing them to look like a sun passing over head but youd want a ceiling of 100w chips. fuck thatd be dope

200w to 400w grow light in the works. max power would be 400w unless i add my last replacement cob. probably wont.

so this is just the ballast circuitry. tl494cn PWM integrated circuit driven buck converter. the torroid im using is a hand wound tuning torroid so i can adjust it as i find the value needed.

I'll add a RF choke on the DC positive side so i dont fuck with the city power and get a call.

i do capacitive ballasting already for simplicity. ill post a schematic of these easy ballasts for those interested. i didnt label the LED voltage and current ratings. theyre 100w 30-36vdc and max @ 3-3.5A

since theyre in series theyd max around 120v so i run them @ 90-100vdc and just protect them with a fuse in case of lightening. to increase available current in a capacitively ballasted LED panel, i want to just add another fairly large capacitor. the Xc or capacitive reactance is 1÷(2piFC) and is rated in Ohms. F is 60Hz in this instance. and C is a 104uF right now but will bump up to 400uF later in flower for a higher light intensity.

im sure iv shared this before but here it is again as i think of it.

ill post the tl494cn buck converter as it happens. i need to pull a bridge rectifier off the fans and replace with a 12v 2a dc wall plug. i needs it!

idk why im posting this in here, this thread really isnt about my cannabis grow. follow my signatures through time if you feel like watching my cannabis grows. but here's the light i ballasted for about 7$ and the indoor garden im playing in.

the soil is FKG composted into leaf mould, with a sandy loam soil after a crop of legume peas, and mixed with wild forest peat from a spot in the woods i cleared to make aerobic compost. there is NO manure in my compost but not by choice.

i couldnt tell you how old these are, i kinda dont keep track. when they look ripe ill check with a loupe.

im putting the buck converter ballast on hold for a while, i dont have time/funds to keep burning out PWMs and i have no oscilloscope to check my work. so this is just some 36$ epistars i found on a promotional sale for 10$ a piece and i ballasted with an AC motor start capacitor and a bridge rectifier. SCHEMATIC ABOVE^^^ im only using one 200UF 125V AC capacitor and not the two like i listed in it. my other monochromatics LED is closer to that.

anyway the voltage going across these in series is 105vdc and the current is 2 A giving me a nice 210 watts of power with a max of 400w handling. should last a while since its fused for 3.5A

so this is 60g of dried dandelion root i saved from my most recent bed i turned. as you may know you can make a coffee substitute if you roast the root and steep in hot water. im drinking some yes but i prefer my coffee taste over dandelion tea. anyway i made some tea by adding .25 liters of water and blending it until was homogeneous. i then simmered it for 20 minutes and filtered out what i could with a paper towel.

i saved this in a little cup but after tasting it i realized this was incredibly concentrated so i rinsed the leftover root pulp with a liter of water and im filtering that to save separately. this concentrated tea is experimental as an antioxidant and amino acid source that should help with nitrogen supplementation. i will dilute this 1:100 by volume like everything else i make for simplicity reasons and will observe to see if it has any adverse effects. i imagine ill use this as a foliar spray in both my indoor cannabis garden and outdoor vegetable garden as supplies last. but it dandelion so its not terribly difficult to forage for more. the regular more diluted tea ill just add to my next compost tea. it probably shouldnt be diluted much more, maybe 1:1 by volume into more water. i have a journal for a Jupiter OG that is in the middle of veg if you want to follow. this is really just to share a random vegan amino acid source i realized a few days ago.

i would totally go for it. keep some kind of record and share your idea when you make it. i think you can also use milk thistle in place of dandelion flower in BD506. i need to find an uncleaned chicken to get an intestine and other organs from to complete biodynamics humus inoculations before winter hits.prepchart.jpg

just another cal phos extract. i noticed unconventional farmer did a dickard job teaching how to make cal phos extract in vinegar. alot of folk use his recipe for lacto serum (not me, i mind as well be an EM1 advocate) so they browse his extract recipes and they find a cal phos extract. ok, so he's using egg shells as a phosphate source disolved into vinegar. this isnt completely false but the phosphate is so miniscule by volume of the eggshell that you would need a pail of eggshells to get something useful from it and by then you would overkill with calcium anything you're trying to feed using it. best to keep egg shell as a calcium carbonate source. just compare it to sea shells.

anywho, you can do the same process as Pat/Gil are suggesting but use charred bones. to be honest they may have just mislabeled the recipe. i dont know.

i've been making this stuff for years. really simple. i bake mine on broil and have a beer, work on something else. and check on it ocassionally. i have incinerated bones a few times so be careful. also if you live with mom then break out the grill and get cooking cuz this kinda stinks.

1 kilo charred then pulverized bones to 1 liter of vinegar.
char your bones before weighing.
if you're using less, just weigh it in grams and use that many millilters of vinegar.

or even easier, fill your container with the pulverized bones and fill right to the bone level with vinegar. itll be almost exactly the same. let it breath for 7 days, filter and use 1:100 in water foliar or soil drench. i just watered my flowers with high K and their nearing time for high P. i know people suggest using cal phos as foliar but im also hearing scientific research suggesting that phosphate does not absorb at all through the leaves. so i wont even bother trying. they were basing it on a study done with various phosphate defficient trees and the the trees exhibit no return from phos def until they used it in the soil drench. but thats just one study so if you're confident ot works foliar use it foliar. i was trained to use it foliar but i see no reason to exclusively use it that way.20160831_233822.jpg 20160831_234108.jpg 20160831_234203.jpg
