Sorry for the ramble. It is often misunderstood what each thing does, hopefully I didn't make it more so.....:peace:
No problem, thanks.
I think I am getting it… slowly.
The PH swing seems to be settling down a little.
I'll know better after I check it this AM, but something is going right… fingers still crossed.

20141010_063035-1.jpg I am showing the first signs of nutrient burn.
Just the tips of a few leaves are turning yellow.
I am changing the res today and gonna put in the transition nute schedule.
Just wonder if I should go full strength or back it off a bit?

Yea, I figured out that it was nute burn.
I mixed 4 gallons at normal strength then added a gallon of PH'd water.
I will keep an eye on them.

An easier way to remember is that pH is a measurement of what's going on right now at that moment....while KH is a measure of what will happen when you start to add acids.

Moderate to High KH will buffer the effect of dropping pH when an acid is added. Low KH will not prevent sudden pH drop.

pH is the measurement of H+ and its concentration or lack of. KH is the measurement of the alkalinity of CaCo3 in solution.

I will keep the lights on starting at 7 AM this morning and leave them on until 11PM tomorrow night, 40 hours straight.
Then Sunday at 7 AM will start the 12/12 photo period.

Next I need to get busy on a couple DIY Co2 generators.
Anyone know which is better?
The one where you drip vinegar into a bowl of baking soda.
Or
the one where you mix water yeast and sugar.
I appreciate any advise.

I also got all up under the SCROG screen and selectively defoliated a LARGE handful of either old fan leaves or big ones that were just sitting in the shade using more energy than they are producing.

I thought I would try the water/sugar/yeast approach to Co2 generation.
The main jug is an empty windex refill jug and a 1 liter soda bottle.
They fit nicely right in the door pocket. (had to crush the soda bottle to clear the SCROG screen)
The output goes up to my circulation fan.
Some may say this is great, some may say it is a wast of time, I say... it couldn't hurt... right ???

I put the freezer door tray front on the bottom of the door with a couple screws.
Also added another small plastic tray I had.
Makes it easier to do my daily res work !20141012_112444_resized.jpg

This is gonna be a fun week.
The plants are really popping now.
I will TRY not to post another pic of the plants till the weekend.
Then we shall see a difference !

Uhmmm, in the past 2 days, my PH has stabilized and now drifts VERY slowly upward.
Nice, I'll take it.
(I'll still check it like crazy for a few days)
