Fresh Growth. Pale Green.

Hi.

In my last grow, (DWC) I noticed that as the plant grew, the new growth was paler green, but as the leaves grew bigger they got darker.

I'm now into my second grow (Drip, Perlgiht), and I am seeing the same thing but on a much larger scale.

The new growth is very yellow, taking longer to darken up, and possible isn't reaching the same dark green colour.

I thougt it might be one of three things.

Over Watering.
I tested this last night by, using less watering cycles, The plants didn't like it, and as you can see in the pics have wilted this morning, I have changed back to my old watering secdule.

Nute streagh too low.
I am running at EC1.0, Which was what I was at at this stage of growth in my DWC grow. But as these plants are twice the size as the plants I was growing last time, maybe they need a stronger doese?

Light Bleach.
My last grow I was using a 400HPS this grow I am using a 600HPS with an air cooled hood. I'm wondering if I have the light so close to the plants that it is bleaching the coulor out of the tops?

As, You can see in these pictures the plants are not looking very good. When I think back to my last grow, how thick and bush the plants where, well i'm not to pleased.

These pics are extra bad beacuse of the fact they didn't get enough water last night and have wilted, they don't usly look willted like this.

Any help would great.
Thanks.

Well.

Things have gone from bad to worse.

I rasied the nute level to 1.2. And today everything is really looking unwell.

The leaves have curled and are now very yellow.

I lowered the EC to .7 and flushed the whole system. But really I don't know what is wrong. I really don't.

I reallly need some help people.

If I can't get them to pick up in the next couple of day, they will all be chopped and I will go back to DWC. as that was really easy.

Well if they got worse when you added mo nutes would take a wild guess you over nuted. Smart plan to flush. That along with cutting off the nutes for a week or two seems to be thought of as the first steps of a recuperation plan in the hydro hobby. Smart thinning there Senor Queeks Draw. I wouldn't put them to death without a fight. I mean you wouldn't abort one of your unborn chillins just cuz it was looking like it gonna be a mongoloid when it was borned now wouldja? All God's Creatures need a fighting chance to live. You just come out with some mongolid dope and everybody be happy.

Hey, Big Wheel Thanks for the replie.

Ye, Was feeling pretty low yesterday.

I have figured it out, It's a Heat issue (90 Percent sure any way).

Luckly Enough the Air cooled Super Nova I ordered months ago Arrived today and I borrowed a Second Extractor Fan. Which I'm hoping I won't need as one is loud enough by it's self.

Fingurs crossed, The ones around the edge of the light are much greener, So I'm hoping that I will only lose a couple. I should have ten cuttings ready in around 7 days, they are just starting to show sighns of rooting today.
So with a bit of lady luck, I will be back on track.

Well it's not looking good.
In fact it looks as if I may have to quit growing for the summer, it's just to hot, and at this piont I have tryed everything.

I currently have two extractions fans, an air cooled hood. and its still 28c with the door open, I close it and temps race into the 30s.

REally pissed off with it.

where is your resevoir?

Do you have airstones in your res? keeps water moving more and it helps lower temp.

Have you thought about adding an in room ac? make sure it blows at a wall or something but they can lower it the other thing is if you're in a house, try taking air from one room and sucking it into the grow room. point the cool air to the ground and let it come from beneath the plants no big temp changes or it will kill it completely.

Thanks,

The first grow went very well, this one has been plaged with problems. But still I gess it goes that way sometimes.

The plants are on a table, the Res is under the table, out of the light, Its cooler down there. I have air stones, in there and the Run Back from the water cycles also mixes it up pretty good.

AC is an option, but very pricy and I have spent so much already, also my my Power is run a consumer unit (one of those ones you put coins into) which is connected to the landlords house, and I don't think I could explain away the extra power use.

I have a small fan I was going to use to boost the air intake. ambient temps are 20c at night (Which is when the lights are on)

And I have a 400W HPS system I could use in place of the 600W System. Don't know if it will make a lot of diffence but I can give it ago.
