what kind should i be looking for in the moisture meters?
Don't sweat it. You aren't looking for an exact moisture content. Just find the spot you need to water at, like #3.

The $5 ones aren't anything more then dissimilar metals and a millivolt meter. The water across the different metals creates a voltage.

i dont use a moisture meter, just lift the pot and feel how heavy it is, but if you want just a cheap meter will work, i have a rapidtest just for the fuck of it, as for the perlite i always add more being that the plants are indoors and have less exposure to light, wind and other shit that dries them out fast, like say your using 1 gallon pots add a hand full of extra perlite

I use FF and follow their grow schedule to the T. I am seein great results from it. I'm using a 3'x3' hydro tray. 6" cube gro-dans and i have three 4 bulb T5 fixures with half bloom lights and half grow lights. I'm about 3 or 4 weeks into bloom and my ladies are looking nice!! Follow the feeding schedule and do yourself a favor, go hydro. my plants don't look like nicks over there but shit not many do...next grow, i' going to lay a coco fiber mat down on my tray and set the cubes on that. I've heard that will give your plants even more space for roots and maybe i'll get monsters like Nick.

Hi guys I'm having a problem with my clones. They have roots now, but the leaves are still yellowing, like the plant is still feeding off the leaves. Should I stop using clonex and start a 1/2 strength grow schedule along with sub culture? I'm making my clones in those circular rockwool plugs. Is it time to transplant them into 4" cubes now? I'm thinking about soaking some cubes in 1/2 strength and hope they do it. What do you guys recommend? Can you PM me with any suggestions? Thanks, Willie

...and only go about half strength of what the feeding schedual tells you......:joint:
It also depends on your plants.....I have week old rooted clones in flowering right now and I have been giving them the full feeding (tiger bloom & big bloom right now with 5ml of cal mag )according to the schedule and they are as happy as can be.

I used to use the botanicare line but just switched to Fox Farm and I have to say I am impressed with how easy it is to use these nutes safely.

Í think my problem is the plants used the leaves as nutrition. I am using Clonex and the directions called for 10 mL per liter! Well I figured that was insane. Went to the grow shop to get cubes and the guy there was saying he uses Clonex with great results...so I mixed 20 mL per gallon along with mayan micozyme subculture from humboldt county. I soaked my cubes in that for 30 min. The ph was 5.7. After that, I put them in their own cube. Now we'll see how they do. I'll get ya guys some pix later in the week hopefully. My dsl is down & I'm doing this all on my cell phone!!
