Found a few seeds in my bud

Hi guys,

I just finished my second grow. It was from bag seed. A single plant in a 4 x4 . It must have self pollenated because I found seeds. About 1 per oz of dryed bud. Bud is doesn't seem effected at all, very potent.

So my question is will these seeds grow ordinary plants or will they be messed up?

I believe if it hermied and fertilized itself it will be a feminized seed. other than that, totally normal. Pretty cool actually .

this is common in some strands . have seen in 2 of my favorites . once in a wile you will notice 1 or 2 of them . usually its the very powerful stands that pop them .

Its from a plant I grew my self from bagseed from some really nice OG kush, that bagseed was my very first grow. Being able to grow the same strain again has huge sentimental value so this is fantastic news. My next ( third) grow will have 4 plant in a 4 x 4 . 1 or 2 of these and 2 others .

Should I just put the seeds in the fridge?

no they are not guaranteed female .
You are correct that it is not guaranteed, but it is much, much more likely..

"Rodelization sort of manipulates natural, biological factors at play in the female marijuana plant. Oftentimes, when the female marijuana plant becomes stressed or is nearing the end of its lifecycle without having been fertilized, it will start to grow pollen sacs on its own. Marijuana plants are naturally going to want to propagate their seed to extend the line, and when they don’t get fertilized, they will sometimes take to fertilizing themselves. The reason that rodelization frequently produces seeds with female characteristics is because all of the genetic and reproductive material involved also had female characteristics.

This is the crux of seed feminization. It is the unique ability of the female marijuana plant to essentially fertilize itself (without actually being hermaphroditic). If both the eggs and the pollen come from genetically female plants, then there is a greater likelihood that the plants will produce female seeds."

I had a nice BOG kush give me the gift of life. I have feminized Sour Boggle now and a few Sour Boggle/Sweet Cindy seeds too. I found the sacs on inspection and plucked them but the was resilient and produced a few more sacs. the lower budz were seeded and the upper budz not. sweet.

Two of my favorites came to me that way. found one seed in a bud. I have a WiFi, and lemon haze. been growing both for over a year. Neither one has ever hermied.

The realisation that I'm asking "where do babies come from" has forced me to buy a general gardening book. "How Plants Work: The Science Behind the Amazing Things Plants Do (Science for Gardeners) by Linda Chalker-Scott".

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UGJNIY0/

Just finshed the first main chapter and I'm really enjoying it so far. She's a fantastic communicator of difficult ideas. You can read it at the same pace you would a novel and still absorb everything.

If you found mature seeds at cropping time that means the plant popped out balls early in flowering which means it's hermie and half the plants grown from those seeds will grow hermie plants.

When plants toss out 'nanners near the end of flowering or after the peak of flowering then the seeds will be predominantly female but it will take another 4 - 6 weeks for them to be mature.

:peace:
