And here we go...

T-Minus: Germ Day! LOL

I'm gonna TRY to keep the posts less..."wordy" cause I Know I can get carried away. So I'm gonna try a new format with my second Outdoor auto grow and try to make it more of a photo log...
Day zero:
1.) Herbie's still delivering to my neck of the woods in precisely 7 days! Great service and selection, and they let me swap the reg freebies with the auto's! Really top notch peeps in my book.
2.) Since these are going in swamps / marshes, I cut a hole in the bottom of the bags in hopes the tap root shoots down through it and into the wet ground. Then folded half paper towels into three layers and placed over the holes so I won't lose the F 707 through them.
3.) Straight from the ground well water, no testing. Room temp. Shaken for aeration before soaking the 707 for germing in a small room with a good electric heater with thermostat. I like this soil mix it is very light and drainage is superb and still stays good and moist. Put beans directly into the pots since EVERYONE has made it clear over the years NOT to transplant. Next run I'll use the seedling / cloning sponges I ordered today and am too impatient to wait for.
4.) Not planning on feeding, as swamps seem to have all these plants need to thrive. Straight up organic / soil grow.

Gonna reserve this spot to post later this evening with pics after planting...and a bit of an explanation of a little experiment I'm gonna try...

Yes, check Link in my sig, dude...I learned a lot with my first real grow. WARNING...it is the "Wordy" I was talking about. It was really more of a marsh than a swamp in most places but it was all swamp when I was a kid and kinda dried out over the years. My SCH in that grow almost got killed...long story, It's all there...

...Well I guess I took too long...LOL. Ever give yourself a treat by finding old bud you hid and couldn't find....call me embarrassed but after smokin' whatever it was, I can see why I forgot where I put it! Found prob a gm of some stuff smells like a cross between incense and perfume...I can almost name the smell it drive me crazy I can't put my finger on it...enough rambling, I promised!

Day 1: OK. Here is the line up

1.) The best looking one of the Super Cali H is going to get FIMmed and compared with the one that does't..
2.) To test the hole in the bottom I left one pot w / no hole in it for one of he Grn. Crack and will compare. The idea is to see if this will create a bigger plant by allowing the root to use the Mix in the pot and Earth and get bigger..."bigger root, bigger plant", right? We'll see.
3.) Used well water just warm to the touch and poured it gently over fisted hand with back of fingers firmly on top of seed to prevent seed wash - out...yeah, I've washed away a seed or two B4. Not bothering with whole pot watering just soaking direct over center for now.keeping thing very very wet. After they pop, I'll use a steam humidifier.
4.) Any thoughts on the temp, Please?
5.) Placed all pots in plastic shopping bags (some doubled) for water retention of run - off...I soak it back into the pots after a while, this works good.

Seated in the front row on this one. I love learning new stuff and these autos are REAL new to me. Looking forward to the comparisons, and thanks for your willingness to try shit for the sake of gaining knowledge/understanding without concern about what others are gonna say/think. Love that! Peace and grow love.

I know the feeling! Just follow the basics: No tell, no smell, no sell ... you should be alright. At the end of the day though, go with your gut. Ain't none of this worth your freedom! Nevertheless, I like that living on the edge feeling just a bit. Like you said it's an adrenaline rush. I have a total of 9 going right now and I swear all the time that after all of them are finished I am going to do JUST ONE! But then I go through my seed stash to find that ONE and it's like the Lays potato chip slogan ... you can't do JUST ONE!! At least with autos though you are cutting a little time off of the overall grow.

7:30 a.m. Monday May 30 (memorial day)(project day 3)(Germination Day)

1.) Four beans through the dirt this morning. Had to already gently pull the husk off of the Incredible Bulk, and is seems very pale. They all seem pale, and I will have to pull husk off of Green Crack it looks like. I've soaked them all with room temp water and put moisture covers on them.
2.) Yes I had to take the husk off the Green crack I captured the process... I use a VERY sharp knife and my fingers.
3.) Started steam humidifier and increased temp setting to 90 degrees F
4.) Putting these four outside as much as I can when the temps warm up prob 1pm or sooner...

Popped / Day 1 germ day for:

My amnesia x pink diesel started slow but after first week shows progressive growth almost daily. She is very short and squat so I think she will probably end up bushy but she is definitely growing and showing new leaves every couple of days. They all look cool to have just popped. I find that whenever I have to pull a casing off my plant it's because I didn't start the seed deep enough in the dirt. BTW, how were the other seedlings lost?

well some just seemed to start weak and pale and then finally gave out. The amnesia and fruit punch got pinched or bent just below surface and though they both look still green there doesn't seem to be any logical reason as they don't seem to bee attached to a root... didn't want to disturb them anymore than I did messing them up and then propping them up so have just let them go so we will wee what we see....

Thanks! And yes, I figured out I didn't put them far enough into the soil but the last green crack bean is about a CM deep... Still waiting for the second one to show. Also put the last Amnesia bean in to germ.

Incredible Bulk weak from the start.....

IMAG0499.jpg

Fruit Punch: It got bent badly and seems attatched to nothing...leafs are on the soil...

Very cool trying to grow outdoors, but if security is an issue, why not get a cheap led setup and grow indoors?

I would think your Cali Haze will have to run 100 days +. Are you okay with that if security is an issue or friends grabing your plants.

Well, that was just a panicky moment. Will be trying to get a small LED set-up going, but this was easiest / cheapest route for some home grown dankness...
When I get them all to their scouted spots I'll feel much better... yeah, the SCH's will go a bit long but still will be under the radar so to speak when it comes to when the eye's in the sky really pick up the pace for harvest season. NOBODY is knowing where any of these are going. PERIOD.

Okay Recap / update:

1.) Lost Fruit Punch and Amnesia #1
2.) Also lost: Green Crack #1, Amnesia #2 and Incredible Bulk as well
3.) Still no sign of Green Crack #2, letting it go but writing it off as a loss as well
4.) Planted Last Green Crack bean and last Amnesia bean (C'MONNN MANNN...got fingers crossed... really want to try those!)
5.) Seedling / clone starting sponges came today and am putting a Fruit punch bean in that after making a little hole and burying it in the pot...roots go right through these so no need for transplanting
6.) That's all the beans Im attempting this time and if they all go that will be at least one of each strain save for the Incredible Bulk.
7.) All seedlin's been outside since Wednesday Morning and shall remain so
8.) Lessons learned...Plant beans deep enough that they leave the husk in the soil and you don't have to perform a risky "Huskendectomy". ALWAYS pick up soft pot's VERY carefully from bottom and DON'T disturb the soil when you gotta move em. I believe this to be what killed them I didn't F up outright myself. I thought I ruined the Dark Purple before it popped (Looked like a massive Earthquake had gone on in the pot the grow mass had broken apart leaving it divided into three parts. It was kinda funny when it did pop as it came right up along a "Ledge" and could have easily fell down into that hole and been lost.

Summary:

Four sittin' pretty in the sun, and three waiting to greet the world....

Round two:

Important question please respond if you can Does anyone see a difference in the sch's other than size...am I seeing a fatter finger in the smaller one...? Different Pheno? That would please me.

1.) No Green crack it popped Friday night but a slug got it over the weekend (Attempted 3 failed 3) all beans gone
2.) Amnesia showing strength after losing 1 seed leaf to husk membrane...still very tiny popped Friday also
3.) Fruit punch popped Saturday. Looks very healthy but is also very tiny...shown in seedling cup direct in pot.
4.) Round 2 summary: 2 of 3
5.) Final 6:

Super Cali Haze 1&2
White Widow
Dark Purple
Fruit Punch(rnd2)
Amnesia(rnd2)

Well...things change...

1.) I broke down and ordered this nute set: http://www.amazon.com/General-Hydroponics-Flora-Performance-Pack/dp/B008UCCCII?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
2.) After literally stumbling onto a perfect (as in perfectly simple, FINALLY) answer to the question I haven't been able to find a simple enough answer to since I first started. A simple formula for Nutes. So the guys thread looks like he can get his plants potential out of them. I will use his formula minus 25% for the F 707 pots to offset any possible nutes not accounted for in the differnt soils' combinations, and then increase incrementally. I will post my schedule when I will start feeding (week 3 to 5)
3.) To adjust for the transfer to final spots in the marshes, I will drop my adjusted schedule by 25% and increase incrementally.
4.) Since the SCHs seem of different phenos I don't think a comparison with show conclusive results and I MAY FIM both of them, not sure yet, want some input on it please. Deffinately gonna FIM the #1...

Update

1.) Showing GOOD growth despite a couple cool nights and days but is going to warm back up now so looking good weather-wise now.
2.) Amnesia still tiny very very little growth but also still healthy looking considering...
3.) Nutes, PH test strips and rooting hormone will arrive today. Will start with 3/4 cc rooting hormone to gallon of water to stimulate root mass production Each plant at its own Week two Will increase incrementally.
4.) SCH #1 will be the one to get FIMmed if I only do just one of them...She is a veg HOG gaining nearly by the hour...
5.) Caught a spider mite infestation early enough to do something about it. Spotted them in my daily inspection shots... gently rubbed with cleaned sterilized fingers...got two nests attached under two largest leaves of the WW. Keeping VERY close tabs on all seedlings with daily inspection pics and turning leaves up to inspect...
