Also the MG ferts with the ammendments was a bit too much.
and you wanna foliar feed????? seems like a lot. moisture meeter???? pick up the pot feel the weight, poke yer finger in to the soil and feel it if you feel wet don't watter if the pot is heavy dont water, get a feel for the weight of the pot, a skill you will need to develope is watering when it needs water a moisture meter may help at first but i wouldnt always trust that, snot hard, you will get the hang of it.

As I said before, the plant that I'm talking about in the start of the thread is a totally different plant, my "major plant".

Also the thread is to see what everyone thinks about foliar feeding and to see the different trains of thought. I've already got all of my plant issues taken care of.

The plants that got the nute burn are from another set of bag seed that I was trying out the "super soil mix" with.

Also remember, this is newbie central, a good place to learn what not to do on your first grow. And a moisture meter tends to be more accurate than poking a finger in a pot, unless you have 14 inch fingers that can reach all the way to the bottom of a pot. And as you say lifting a pot to gage the weight is a learned skill, not a newbie skill.

Sorry about that, did'nt mean to piss you off, it just seemed like you missed the point of the thread.

And I truly respect your opinion, you've written some great posts.

Alright, time to get this thread back on track.

Do you think foliar feeding is necessary or not, and if so why, and if not, why not. No more tangents please!

foliar
I think you have your answer foliar if you need to, leave the soil to do its job! Water, feed, flush, or repot its up to you! As you should know knowledge comes with learnig from our mistakes. fk ups.
Iv had them :bigjoint: and will continue to learn.

Foliage is for photosynthesis yes it will absorb moisture but not ment to at mid day with neuts naturally.:leaf:

Just as a head fk dew has low level light in the morning? By the time the sun is at a strong power, high lumens, mid day or fk its hot! The dew has dryed up.

HIDs get hot quick. So yes I agree if you got to, because you have messed up move your light well away till dry.:bigjoint::eyesmoke:

Edit: As a norm I would say no.

People might be more willing to help you out if you +rep good advice or even people stopping by your thread to answer your poll. Just a thought.

You are so right, most of the folks that have answered here I've already +rep and the system won't let me do it again.

This thread/poll is to get opinions more than help. The more opinions the better for a new grower to learn from and decide which way to go.

BTW, + rep for your earlier reponses, well thought out.

I foilar spray weekly during veg and for the first week of flower witha seaweed extract. I also apply Neem as part of the foilar. I don't do this so much for feeding the plant, the nutes in the soil do that, but I do it to form a protective coating on the leaves that the bugs/pests don't like. I have found the hard way, prevention is better than cure. Do you want bugs munching your leaves and spider mites laying their eggs? Not for me!

Regarding burning under HID, this is true if you're not careful. I always apply my spray about 2-3 mins before lights out. My ventilation is awesome, so there is no concern about mould for me. The plants love it, the bugs don't! But that's just how I roll with it! :bigjoint:So it's a yes from me!

this is just a joke.
and thats why people have plant problems.
adding a cocktail of nutes to a shitty medium and then foilar feeding them with more shite.
growing weed is kids play but some want to over complicate things by
adding shit thats not necessary and then the plant fucks up with a problem they come back on with the question whats happened to my plants ????.
well they should know themselves what they used or did not to cause the problem :dunce:.

no prevention should be assessed before you grow the plant.
whats the point of so called prevention when you can just do the right thing and let nature take its course.
feeding all that shit to plants before there is any problems is just asking for plant disorders and trouble.
far to many people flooding the site with the same old bull.
("whats wrong with my plant").
the answer is easy and is "well what have you done to it ??? ".
just do things easily and natures way and you should have no problems.

How is foilar spraying asking for trouble? It is a well known and used treatment for pest control on all types of plants.

just keep the bugs at bay.
and what pest control .
its a weed you are growing not a rocket science ship.
pest control is used for rats and other vermin .
and i said foilar feed with pure water (no nutes) in vegg purely to clean the leafes not feed them.

(google it)
