Flushing

iv never flushed and i grow in soil,
to be honest plants take up water and nutrients and convert them into buds,
i really dont see how flushing for the last week or 2 would help because they would have already soaked up nutrients from the previous weeks

sounds like bullshit to me but id love for some1 to enlighten me....

My opinion on flushing is

I have an outdoor growing friend who digs a hole big enough to bury a cow in, and he thows the dirt away and fills it back up with composted old dead cow shit, chicken shit, bat shit, sheep shit, and all kinds of nitrogen and 4 bales of peat moss. He grows trees as tall as his house. When harvest time comes, how could he possibly flush them? And his pot has NO Fertilizer tastes and NO chemical tastes.

Have you ever bought maui-wowie or mexican or columbian or jamacian pot grown commercially? Did it have a chemical or fertilizer taste? I bet not, and I bet it was not flushed. How would or how could anyone flush a field of pot?

Do you starve a cow a week before you butcher it or do you fatten it up all the way until butchering time?

A plant absorbs the nutes or fertilizers and converts them into useable food. The leaves do not have nutes in them, and the buds do nto have nutes in them.

I flushed my first hydroponic grow. It tasted sweet. I did not flush my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th grow, and it tasted sweet.

Even a condemned murderer gets a final meal.

What about weed that crackles and pops when it burns? Is that caused by not flushing or from not curing properly?

idk. i look at it like this. how would your brain feel if you smoked some nasty ass chemicals that are made for photosynthesis.. the taste is secondary. i imgaine the taste would suffer too. im on my first grow, someday i might not flush my plant. for me it seems logical to flush. im on the edge though, cause your plants still absorb all them chemicals anyways. there gonna be there regardless of if you flush, its just how much. idk though, im not a plant specialist or anything, but it seems like common sense to flush. getting high is bad enough on your brain, i dont wanna be adding to it by smoking in-organic chemicals that have side effects that arnt known to man, or atleast to the general public.

I'm no botanist but from everything I've read plants take up the nutrients and metabolize them into forms the plant can use. So the nutes are in the plants already and don't necessarily go away when you flush them. Plants don't burn them up, they use them for building cells and repairing cells and for chemical reactions in respiration and photosynthesis. The plant actually burns the sugars it produces through photosynthesis. So I guess the reasonable assumption would be that there aren't really any "chemicals" in the plant. The chemicals you put in your soil or whatever growing media you use don't get sucked up into the plant and stay there in that form.

but there still chemicals, right? ya it breaks it down, but its still a slight difference in atomic structure?? idk much about atoms and what there made of or anything, but chemicals arnt natural, so therefore the atomic structure must be different then the organic structure..? idk, plants and animals are interesting. its like trying to understand the universe .but about the flush, iidk how much of a difference a plant full of nutrients compared to a plant deprived and running low is on the volume scale, but it seems like the plant wont be jam packed with nutrients when you go to harvest.

Chemicals are not bad, some chemicals are bad. We've been programmed to think that anything associated with the word "chemical" is bad. We and all life are, quite simply, complex chemical reactions (obviously it's not quite that simple). Chemical reactions are what create us, sustain us, change us, and are occuring in nearly all of our cells at once. Plants don't take up Ammonium Nitrate into their workings. They break it down into a form the plant can use. The same thing is occuring with organic feeding, just in a different, more sustainable way. The plant ultimately takes up the same elements and molecules as it would if fed organically or chemically. Why is the taste noticeably different you ask? I don't know but there is obviously some different, perhaps very subtle, chemical reactions taking place that we don't understand as of yet. I'm really not a scientist, so I'm sure some"real" scientist will challenge something I said. :bigjoint:

Hey, I started flushing last week, and now it seems that new flowers is popping out. Therefore I think that I have to wait longer to harvest. The crystals is more or less milk white. So my question is, do I have to worrie about if my plant will get enough nutrition? Is it stupid to give it one more dose of terra flores and then start flushing again?

I have a similar thread on the go and someone dropped this.--- --- http://www.420magazine.com/forums/ho...-flushing.html
the best read I have had yet really on the topic.
I have also found similar style articles going the other way and saying you MUST flush
My first grow and I don''t know what the hell to do except wing it...
try a bit of both if you can and you'll have something to compare your next grows to.

heres my thread link, you may find some useful stuff here....made me more undecided haha...
