So what about milk buds?

Feed your plant milk would that give it milk taste? If so I might just do that with clones lol.
I'll sell it for $20 a .5 and tell people its Milk Bud that will grow stronger bones.

How will you know if the pineapple flavor was genetic or some enhancement?
I won't really, but the flora-nectar 0-0-1 is cane sugar, molasses, and malt extract. So basically its just a sweetener that has a slight smell of pineapple. I did see the flowers and buds have swollen drastically. When they are done and cured i'll post up and give results. BUT THE BUDS HAVE SWOLLEN INCREDIBLY!!!!

The sugars are to feed the myco's in your soil, then your mycos poop and die to feed your plant. Assuming you havnt killed off all your mycos by using chemical nutrients. That said i normally dont post for subjects where common-sense would tell you otherwise but just think, if you could pour whatever chemical into the soil and whatever fruits would take it in we would have grape flavored tomatoes and chocolate flavored cucumbers and the world would be a little less obese. If you want good tasting weed find a good strain and grow it using organic nutrients and/or organic soil(like sub's supersoil) or tea's. If you have ever smoked anything grown in super soil you would never go back.

Heck i could even go on for hours about how flushing is pretty pointless and does nothing but starve your plant when they are on their last legs. If you are worried about the "salt" build up from chemical nutrients flushing wont change whats already there and unless you are vegging tree's for months on end you wouldnt be using them enough to accumulate.

TL;DR- Go organic.

I grow Hydroponically. I use the GH line of nutes. I have read from many many many experienced growers that the sweeteners do help the buds get bigger and enhance flavor of the finished product. We shall see.

Twas a joke but yea, people around my part only care about 2 things, flavor, and appeal.
They know nothing about weed besides those 2 things.
You tell them you have Tahoe OG Kush and they just say cool that like a haze or some stupid non sense.

Show them a bag of purple bud and they will rip it from your hands and throw money at you.
Tell them this bud taste like kool aid and they will beg you for some.

What can you tell me about these microbes? I specifically want to know more about the microbes that really affect the taste and aroma of cannabis.

None for me thanks, I prefer the natural smell and taste of a well bred strain. It was bad enough that I once fell for the molasses thing I got from reading a little too much. My jars ended up smelling like tea bags or something most unnatural.
Never again.

Hey there hat,

Me and my bro were once discussing this in theory and we ruled out the experiment, we didn't even try. My reason is this,

When the plant takes up nutrients, it has to be in small chunks (ions) and the individual chunk wont have the property of the big chunk (compound) which gives the flavor. Am not good in chemistry(or maths) but if AB is the orangey/fruity concentrated flavoring agent, the plant gets A & B individually.

But if the plant can combine these two and produce the same flavoring compound AB, your theory wins and I'll be puffing on Grape Hindu Kush :bigjoint: But citrus plants differ in production of their flavors with that of cannabis. Hence the flavor has to be in the genes, that is where your hunt for phenotypes matter.

If the stuff I give my plant contributes to the flavor I'll be smoking cowdung :-( , so by organics we can enhance- only enhance the flavor already present in the strain.

Please do let me know if any experiment is a success in hydro/soil/aero. Glad to be a part of the conversation; I maybe wrong after that 420.

Toker.

Here's a way I give my orangebud (Critical Sensi Star) an orangey taste. I dry the bud until it is crispy. Then it goes into a large sealable glass jar. I cut a slice of orange and put it in a sandwich bag an place the baggie on top of the bud an seal the jar for24 hours. The crispy bud will oak up some of the orange essence and retain the smell. Is there a thread that contains information on microbes?
Im sure that there are certain microbes that greatly enhance the taste/aroma of the herb.

I am currently using the Floranectar line, don't know yet if it will actually add flavor, but people have said it does. Im using Pineapple Rush with a Pineapple Kush
Pro-Tip here: Water pineapple kush with coconut milk and those buds will smoke just like a Pina Colada. If you do it in the 4th week of flowering, the buds will actually grow little umbrellas as well.

Actually the whole concept is ridiculous. If you use guano as fertilizer does your weed taste like bat shit?

Now then to the point.....

Why the hell do you want to smoke FAKE flavored meds! My meds are used by many for the NATURAL taste, enhanced by real growing practice's. NOT crappy additives for unrealistic taste....

If you want "flavors". Go buy a Nicotine delivery Vape pen and fill it with "coffee, grasshopper, lemon drop, grape" or what ever "flavor" vape fluid you want to remind you of your youthful candy counter days. Better yet save the candy counter for the "munchies"......

I would like to clear up any misunderstandings. My aim is not to produce any Fake flavored meds, but to enhance the original aroma/taste of cannabis.

This experiment is merely to gather information out of sheer curiosity.
