Fluorescent and Hps for flowering???

I'm trying to add more light without adding the heat of an additional HID light. What if i just throw in some 48 inch fluorescents to provide more light without adding as much heat.I have some extra laying around............Good idea bad idea???

and i think you answered your own question. i'd use cfl's for supp lighting. tube fluoros only work for side lighting and top lighting but cfl's can be crammed all around the canopy

hes obviously asking if it would cause more heat if he added those other lights and/or if it is as good idea..

No it shouldnt add anymore heat really... And yes the more light the better is what ppl always say.

My question is if I add fluorescent lights combined with and hps light would this work?Be better than just hps alone? I was "distracted" when i posted this thread.

They might add a little more heat not much. Both types of light combined will do wonders for flowering, you'll have the red spec from your hps and some blue from the fluoro's. Good luck..
