Like I said haven't been here since RIU started and these looked alien to me. I'm enjoying learning all this new tech. Well new to me. All the wasted money and all the money to save. Pretty impressed in the light spectrum and energy or lack of the produce it.

The spectrum of the new spyder looks really nice too. But yeah, I think cobs may be the way to go. Don't get me wrong, I'm liking the spyder1200. Much less stretch than on the hps side, buds all the way down the stems. If I'd vegged a little longer I think this would've been a really sweet run. The plants just stayed very compact, so I didn't fill the space I wanted too. First run, didn't know what to expect. They still have 3 weeks to go, so they might still impress me.

New ones are on the way so they will be used. I'll build a 3590 set up just second guessing myself on layout and how many cobs 10 or 12 cob and light pattern layout to maintain the closest distance on the space. 5x15' area. 8" from top of canopy is bare in the SCOG. 4-6 week veg. The Gc x BD and GG#4 Gc are some of the most vigorous statins I've ever seen. Patted myself on the back making them:) still unsure if 12cbx3590 can be run 3500k @1400ma or has to be 1050ma. If so what's the difference? Sorry if that's a stupid question. Use to buying shit plugging it in and go.

You can drive them at up to 2800ma, but the harder you drive them, the less efficient they are. I think at 1400ma they are about 56% efficient and at 1050ma 61%, I'm not sure if those #'s are exact.
I am admittedly new to this, but it's not hard to get the hang of. I had to watch growmau5 diy for noobs vids quite a few times to really start understanding.

Damn. That's a lot isn't it? How high from the canopy are you staying? Maybe I should add more light? What would you suggest for 5x16" just keep it 1per sq/ft?
I'll have to come up with a decent spread cause may space 1sq/ft if 64 cobs at 4x16' unless I'm wrong. Still would cut the wattage in half of the 4 Gavitas I use to run

Bonjour
1 per.sq/ft is the best you can do!
But aim for 30w sq/ft with cxb3590 @1400mA (50w)...so less cob!
12 @ 1400mA on 3 hlg-185-1400b (almost the same price than 2 hlg-240-1050b!)
I guess 200w of cxb (4 @1400mA) would cost 350/370$!...so 1050/1100$ for 12 or 1400$ for 16!
But you will need less fan...less a/c in summer...smaller extractor...less nutes...!
More jars...!

I gro sativa & sativa hybrids soo I like the tall stuff I've got a 8' ceiling so I can go high even trellis some
If I go high I can cram more light into the room
overkill is betta than under kill in my book lol
i did over kill with mars over 2K real watts got a hellva Frosty ,hard nug product but my heat & energy costs were as high OR higher than HPS

Soooooooo, what do you guys think of the new BML/Fluence Bioengeniering? Personally, I like them. The new SpyderXPlus (1200 replacement) is sharp with a larger LES. Allot of guys here seem to think they're not intense enough but I believe that's a matter of opinion. They are designed primarily for vertical farming. Or for us, a nice even scrog canopy would strive. The new spectrum is the shit. Price is more reasonable then before. The company seems pretty transparent to me. Just ask & they will answer. But I really like the Vyprs. They are intense & can be 3' up. Thing is, I'd want 2 of the bigger ones (525watts around there) to cover a 5'x5' & that would be $1800. A lil steep. They sell another line called the Spydr Rays for side lighting & they are affordable. If I wasn't already invested in 3 other brands at one time I was considering trying them out. Still am. Bout to do a run with the Amare SE-450 vs. the Hydroponics Hut X5-500. New to LED & this forum stuff, so hopefully I'll see some of you guys there. Maybe by next year I'll be a DIY but for now I just need my rooms running & producing.

I've seen a lot of people saying they like them, but yet to see anyone who actually has one yet. My buddy has had them on preorder for a couple months and he doesn't have them yet.

Well they increased the quality and lowered the price. New models still haven't arrived but I'm sure they will work great. Started this thread when I started the RIU account after not being on here for four or five years. Once on here learned about cobs. They will stay or be faded out by the 3590 builds I'll soon do.
When the new ones arrive I'll post pics.

It's funny how long ive been off RIU start a new account and thread talking up Fluence Bio. And now...... It's turned into a Cxb3590 diy thread. Glad I came back! I'm finding some great material to make a cutting edge light that's aesthetically pleasing to the eye. You led guys are on top of shit. Thanks
