interesting, I'd like to see a pic. I'm curious how the Crees get rid of heat? do they have built in fan or is a heat sink?
cree does not remove heat but it may reduce heat 300w of solskin which is like a hlgv2 250 is killing a 600w hps i spent about 400

Metal halide also makes the best quality flower IMO
Hi, would you please be so kind and elaborate a bit on this statement.
This is new to me, but I'm not an experienced grower. But I grow on 1.2m x 1.20m x 2.00m tent under 600 W and have both HPS & MH. There are so many opinions about which lights when to use to influence the plant into a certain direction. But setups can be different.
I'd like to know your logic on this.

Metal halide has ample UV so it stimulates more resin production at the cost of bud weight. That said the buds can very dense due to the blue / red light ratio. Overall it could be speculated that the extra resin production offsets any yield loss. It is after all, the resin we are after.

Thank you. Is the MH UV output UV-B? What do you think about HPS + additional UV-B source? Too much additional cost?
Would you use the MH for the whole bloom phase? I've previously used the MH for the bloomphase to counter the flowering stretch, afterwards changing to HPS to increase lumen. Can't really say if this even worked...
I just wondered what the combination of both MH & HPS lamps during the grow would mean in terms of the plants development. I recall lots of these setups in pictures from the Vertical-section here...

I decided to swap out my 600w digi ballast for the end of flowering with a 400w mag ballast and threw a 400w CMH lamp it it. Hoping for extra frost..

Mcoocoo,
I veg under a 250w mh bulb running in a 400w digi ballast dimmed to 60%. Starts and runs smoothly. No light meters...but the plants like it.

no, the maximum, anyone who say different like the other fellow should maybe learn to calculate pars before giving people retarded advice
3x3 with a 600 will give you 96 par which is the min you want
then why are the tops of my plants frying?

Need pics of the plants to say why. Could be many causes.
I will put up some pics tonight, when light comes back on. It is the fan leaves that are growing out from the very top cola that are the most affected. I cannot raise the light any higher, it is at the very top of the tent. The only thing left to do is to bend the top over, or go out and buy a new 400 watt ballast/bulb combo

Only thing I don't see anyone asking is are you running your nutrients at full strength?
1 flush
2 re add nutrients at half strength
3 keep lights at full blast
4 add co2 bag or tank
With AC an half strength nutrients an co2 your problem should go away
