flowering - lower leaves yellowing

My plant is 25 days into flower and the lowest fan leaves have been turning yellow and then dying. I know this is a nutrient deficiency and the plant needs the nutes for bud creation. What im wondering is what kind of nute(s) should i purchase. (ex. 10-10-10) What is the main nutrient the plant needs during flowering.

Phosphorus and Potassium and less Nitrogen. This can happen and is normal. Plant is using up nitrogen stored in the leaves. They turn yellow as they get depleted and the plant drops them off when no longer storing food.

hey man

good advice from little tommy there, its all normal for those leaves to yellow up from the bottom of the plant during flowering,

i may be wrong but you should continue feeding your plants nitrogen high nutes about 2 weeks into flowering,

good luck

I don't know if telling him he is okay. I had the same problem on some plants, and I listened to the advice to ignore it, it's normal. Now my plant is VERY yellow, and it's become very clear it had a severe nitrogen deficiency.

Its too early to have be dropping fan leaves, all is NOT well. He still has five weeks to go until harvest IF it is in fact a short blooming indica which we do not know because the poster shared very little relevant information and no picture.

How does everyone miss this post?

"To get an accurate diagnosis of your plant we need as much information as possible.

1) PICTURE OF PLANT *** VERY IMPORTANT ***
2) Growing indoor or outdoors
3) Watering schedule
4) Growing Medium
5) What stage of growth

The more information you put in here the better diagnosis you will get."

purfict: In my 20+ years growing I have never been happy with a plant that had dropped yellowed leaves that early. You could be right about it being nutrient deficiency, but nobody here can factually diagnose it without more info provided by you.

As far as nutes go I recommend Blue Mountain Organics because they are a great quality organic line for about $25 and I also think that Organicare Nutrients are simple to use and highly effective for the money.

Post more details and lets know for certain what your problem is.

I have two plants about 4 weeks into flowering. They're
both dropping their fan leaves from the bottom up.Every plant I've grown has followed this same pattern. He didn't say his leaves are turning yellow all over.Again I say, with the info given that all is as it should be.Want more info...pics...pics...pics.

My point is that there is not enough information supplied by the OP for anyone to make a logical deduction.

So you haven't had beautiful green plants right up to two weeks before harvest? I have and that's what I prefer based on experience.

Hypothetically speaking, JoeSchmoe knows that sticking a nail through a plants stem 2 weeks before harvest makes it flower faster and stickier. He knows this because this is how he does it every single time. How valuable is his knowledge given his limited experience? What does he have to compare it to, to substantiate his claims?

I'm not trying to give you a hard time but I hope you get my point.

There is a debate that often pops up about how much yellowing and leaf dropping is "good" for a plant nearing the end of the flowering cycle. For the answer I often look to what happens in nature. My outdoor grows rarely show these signs of stress and 75% of my grow is 12+ week sativas. This doesn't occur in my indoor projects either, at least not since I was 17 and working my first noob grow. I think there is too much emphasis put on boosting P & K to ridiculous levels while cutting out N way too early. I used to do this also but now have found a method that works better for me.

...and that's my stoney rant for the night.

peace.

Ok, so here is some more information.

Grow: indoors
Watering Schedule: Almost everyday, just depending on plants dryness
Medium: Some type of indoor potting soil
Growth Stage: Day 27 flowering
Lighting: 2 50W Compact Fluorescent + 6 54W T5 HO fluorescent
Fan: just broke about a week ago, and i think explains the curling leaf tips.
Plant: Believe it to be Sativa?

There is no need to water every day with a soil grow. This can contribute to the yellowing and loss of leaves. Lift the pot and if it feels light as a feather water/feed it. Let the roots dry out some. Water well and then wait until needed again.

plant need nitrogen all through there life they just need it more heavy in veg.. dont stop feed nitrogen in bloom or thatll happen

dont mean to hijack.. but what if by doing it this way you have to water every 3 days? im currently flowering and am wondering if it is ok to feed every other watering in my case? being you want to feed your ladies atleast once a week? any takers would be helpful...

again sorry to hijack.. kiss-ass

During flowering what i do is once with just water and molasses and once with my nutes (fox farm line). and i keep the rotation till 10 days before harvest then i use just water the first and water and molasses the second time.

First remove the tin foil it makes hot spots and is bad for any grow. Second a fan is great but its cfl not really needed unless its Nevada weather in your grow box. They dont get to hot. And what was your nutes? didnt see any that you were using. If none you need to start and start out slow 1/4% strength and move up a lillt bit each feeding you use nutes. Should be using nutes once a week and water the other time.

This is a great post. At 25 days flower you should not be having any yellowing what so ever. There is a problem and like it has been said you need N during the transition phase (first two-three weeks of flower or stretch) and really all the way through flower......

I was thinking I have a Nitrogen deficiency. I have a 10-10-10 nute as we speak but i dont use it. I dont know if this is any good or not. I read somewhere but dont quote me, that i want something that is higher in nitrogen compared to potassium and phosphorus levels. SO help me out, if i go to a growing place, what kind of nute should i get, especially what kind of ratio am i looking for?

PLEASE HELP!!! first grow

A 30-10-10 for veg, 20-30-10 for flowering.....if yellow leaves start to appear during flower while on 20-30-10, then hit them with the 30-10-10. (Jacks classic fertz)

I use fox farm and never had a problem at all. I always gotten the yellowing towards the end of flowering like the last week because of not using the flowering nutes. If there is a way to stop that all the way up till chop without getting that nute taste in the finished bud let me know im all ears
