Suppose it could be classed as a fertilizer but wondering if anybody has more insight on what microbes these types of products contain?.

The info is vague, it says it eliminates ammonia/nitrite but does not specify the process. I assume it must have the bacteria required to break down dead organic matter (roots) as it's designed to break down left over food/fish waste into ammonia > nitrite > nitrate.

The fertilizer used has N as nitrate and ureic nitrogen. No mention of ureic in either link but perhaps it's no issue. The only bacteria that can eat on nitrate N by the link above require anaerobic conditions that hopefully does not happen in coco?. So by all I can gather the biology in this product can only feed on dead roots, dead microbes, possibly on the urea and will finally release it as N nitrate?.
