First time with edibles, making cannabutter

So I have never made nor eaten THC before but I have been interested for a while. I am planning on making cannabutter from a recipe I found online. I don't want to make anything fancy just yet. I am trying to get a feel for how edibles work on me. I want to make some of the butter and then put it on toast. Is it worth my while? I plan on using 1 oz of bud and 4 sticks of butter.

we have some really good recipes here
honestly, cannabutter on toast is gunna be nasty as fuck

bake a pan of brownies or cookies or something instead.
I need to ask you as an admin because this process seems to be an extra step but when you decarb, the process seems to be this:
Put pot on an ovensafe dish, decarb for however long it takes based on temp and amount of pot.
Then put pot in butter make canna butter (another heating process)
Then bake in oven for an even lower temp but this is heating up thc for several times. I want to make sure this is correctly done.

Don't forget a cup of water, too. Shit's going to be simmering for 2-3 hrs

1 oz to 1lb (4 sticks) this will work well but I o 2oz to 1 lb and what this allows me to do is make better tasting treats. Better tasting? you asking right? The logic behind that is for example, I make cookies that require 1 stick of butter, rather than using 112g of canna butter I can use 60g canna butter and 52g regular butter thus almost completely eliminating the green taste in the cookies.

The way I do it is to first grab the container I am going to use when I'm done to let the butter settle in the fridge, I fill it up with water (to about a 1/2" below the top) and pour that in a 3gal pot, I than toss in my butter and bring it to a boil, once it boils I toss in herbs and let boil for 15 min than bring it down to low and removed my pot for an hour or 2 so it can cool (if you don't do this it'll take forever to get it down to temp). I let it simmer at around 120f for 24-48 hours… than using a cheese cloth strain it into the container we filled with water earlier and put a lid on it than pop it in the fridge for a day.

Simple to make budder in a small crock pot.
recipe;
32grams sugar leaf or bud
2 sticks unsalted butter
2 cups of water
put the crock pot on low over night
use a fruit strainer over a 1 quart mason jar
pour mix into the bag and squeeze out the liquid
put jar in frigerator over night
done.
find a brownie mix that needs oil,use the budder instead.

Unless you have a crock pot you can specifically set the temp on I've found that LO is too hot, I couldn't get mine down to get my butter mix below like 160-170… I prefer the slow simmer for a better tasting butter.

ill try and word this..

oz in 4 sticks = 1/4-1/8 of bud in whole or half stick respectively..

thc has an initial half life of 4hrs and a terminal half life about 30hrs. this is important in redosing for medical use but more to my point....that initial half life is whats important and the reason edibles last longer than smoked thc is due to slower absorption. not an increase in the half life or otherwise change pharmacokinetics of the drug.

so for you to feel the same effect you need to eat 3-4x what you would smoke. make sense?

so you would need to eat about half a stick at that concentration. many like 2-300mg in medium users, dank bud has roughly 20%yield.

you are correct in feeling thats alot of heat on what is widely known to be a sensitive compound. this is why edibles are often more sedating than the smoked herb even though the conversion to delta 11 makes fpr a potentially more stimulating experience.

making capsules is the most biologically efficient..with coconut oil.

if made with hash oil first you can get rid of any planty taste, really any taste at all. a simple alcohol based extract and double boil decarb is the best method

Now this report is full of details!
I know my process works just as listed.

I found a better process and no longer use a crock pot.
recipe;
1 220micron shake bag
1-5 gallon bucket
3 lbs dry ice
1 gallon sugar leaf/pop corn bud
mix 1 lb dry ice with 2 oz weed
let it get cold and shake the bag
stop shaking when no powder comes out of the bag
return=10%-15%
batch=6 grams per your choice of brownies cookies or chocolate bars.

If you want the best bang for your buck, use coconut oil instead. It has a higher saturated fat content so it is going to absorb more of the good stuff. This gets MUCH more potent than butter. I've had it so strong (cooked for 16 hours) that it would knock you on your arse with 1/5 tsp. You can dilute that into butter for brownies that don't taste like freakin dog shit. I've used it in gelatin capsules... I've made pixie sticks with it, infused it into chocolate and now into peppermint patties.
