First time tent grow 8x8x7

Hey guys first time grower using 8x8x7 tent looking for some advice on a few things. First of all I was planning to use 4x 1000 hid lamp systems with 25 plants in 5 gallon buckets. Is that way too much lighting as I was running into heat problems. currently have a 10" centrifugal fan with filter exhausting outside. Using a 6" inline fan sucking air from another room into the tent room. Only using the flaps on the tent for an intake working good with 2x 1000 light with Temps about 27. What would I need to do to get 4 lights setup any help much appreciated. thanks

Get air cooling tubes for your lights, so the heat from your lights goes straight out. A/c can help keep your temps down. I've seen people fit comfortably fit 5-6 plants in a 4x4 little cramped but can work if trained right. I would run a lot less plants and scrog to cover the area. You would have to train your plants pretty well to make sure when they go into flowering they aren't just growing into one another, that your canopy isn't super thick you want good light penetration. Got any way you want to grow them as far as training, lst, scrog, etc?

So it's possible to run 4x 1000 hid in the tent or is it over the top? Also what's Scrog stand for?

I think 4 is over doing it, I understand more light bigger buds etc but to an extent. A 1000w will handle 4x4 area well so 2 would do good. I'd go 3 if I needed but not 4, to much fans, heat to worry about and in my opinion over kill. Screen of green, look it up creates a lot of cola top bud sites. Makes canopy nice and even and makes it easier to lower and make lights higher since canopy the same all across pretty much. If you decide to go a different way, toss a hps and buy some side lighting for lower parts to fill in space with lights. I'm sure there will plenty more replies with help.

Forgot to ask your 5 gallon bucket, is this soil, soiless how are you growing besides your lighting? if soil how do you plan to water and do the run off etc in a tent without moving them all in and out each time etc?

What's cfm or your fan you are using for that size?

Don't forget to add up your amperage you don't want to blow anything. Each one of those lights on a 120 will draw a little over 9 amps each. Plus amps from fans, circulating fans and what ever else you run. Don't want to burn your house down. A tent can get very hot.

Yeah I think I'll try pushing 3 lights hopefully be able to keep the temp down. Using soiless medium with a 25gAL reservoir and a sump pump for the watering. The 10" exhaust fan is rated for 720 cfm and the filter in the 900. Also using the 240v outlet running lights on 240v sockets with a timer. Looked 8nto the sog system thank you very much for all the info.

The goal with tents is to keep the temp relative to the temp on the outside. You can only keep it so many degrees above the ambient temp of the room the tent is within.I can keep my 4x8 about 5 deg above the temp of the 12x12 space it's in. Question is, what is the temp of the air the tent is taking in? How much above ambient temp is the tent? You can get the difference between the two only so low from what I've discovered regardless of air flow.

Hey thanks for that info, the temp in the tent is 81 and 76 in the room it's in. Intake is pulling roughly 65 from another room with the window open. Question is should I just run the intake into the tent because I had even higher Temps doing it that way.

You can run as much as you want in a tent. Gorilla makes a freaking 10ftx20ft tent.

If heat is an issue, you got a few option with the lighting.
1.air cool, I would use solis tek reflectors, the low iron glass is amazing, and IMO will change a lot of people's mind on air cooling. Barely blocks any light.
2. 315w CMH. These lights are killing it. Have seen many people trading in their 1000s for some of these. Running 3 315 CMH in replace of 2 1000w SE and pulling the same yield.

Environment.
Unless you live somewhere really cold or in a microclimate, your gonna need an AC for that size of an op. 6,000 btu per 1000w will keep you safe no matter what it is outside. Don't forget the heat pump if it gets cold where your at.

Hard to say. You just might have to experiment. If you are using the passive flaps at the bottom, that is going to be the majority of the air they intake. If the tent is in a room, I would try to cool the room if possible. The tent is not really insulated, so no matter what, it's always going to be relative to the room it's within unless you run like direct ac or something.
