Hey guys this is my first grow and thought id share it here as this is where i picked up alot of usefull information :)

I am growing 2 Ministry of Cannabis Auto Blue Amnesia plants in a small garage cupboard, with cfl lighting. the plants are only about a week old, i plan on keeping them small, im not bothered about yeild really i just want too learn how too keep it alive and well as its only my first grow. Yeilds will come in time.

I am currently using 2x 45W 5500K CFL lights one on each plant for now, i also have an 85W and a 45W 2700K which will be added later, when i get some new fittings as the ones i have are unsuitable for the whole grow. the plants themselves are growing in soil and perlite mix, im not sure the size of pots but there not big as i want small plants.i have a small fan, have drilled some holes and currently leaving the door slightly open as i havent sorted propper ventilation yet... suggestons? this is on a major budget as u may be able too see..

I dont have a mass of knowledge so go easy on me... heres some pics.

Any help / advice greatly appreciated, but do remember this is a bidget project and is for fun more than massive yield! :D

Hey hanky, nice start!!
You might want to check your soil's and water's pH.
It's something most guys don't realise it could bring deficiencies later on.

Also, you might wanna turn your fan al lil bit down; it would be nice to cool the heat off the cfls but your girls need some air on them too. They develop bigger and stronger stems and that's good for the density of your buds. You don't want to have fluffy buds in the end, though this is not the only thing providing denser buds.

A question: Do you spray water on the leaves when the lights are on? I do when lights have 1 min. to close so they can take the water but not risk them getting burned by the lights (if) being too close like yours.

Another question: What's your timeschedule??

Cheers!!

While you're making improvements you'll get better light usage by hanging those lights sideways of the wall or something. I use the Y-splitter personally, like you got sitting in your cab and I get em down around the plant. I got 6 lights haning off of 5 Y-splitters, and let me tell you, you can get some good funky angles to improve growth.

Thanks for the tip, the y splitter in the cabinet is broken that's what I was using just waiting for a new one too turn up. Too many bulbs make it too hot in there so must sort pc fans out first!

Hey dude, thanks for the reply! No I haven't tested my soil yet but it read it's OK too grow in, I'm using rainwater too water them.. It's in 24 hour cycle at the moment but will be changing too 20/4 in around a week!
I plan too install intake and outtake pc fans then the fan will be used solely for the little ladies and i will add bulbs!

I now have the y hanger in there, and just about too look on eBay for some pc fans, does anyone have a fan recommendation or are they pretty much all the same?

I'm going too test my soil and water pH at the weekend just in case, as I am here to learn!

Therw exactly 7 days from sprout now and looking lovely and healthy, lowered the fan so there getting a nice gentle breeze too!

Being my first grow I have too say I'm mega exited when I get home every day now just too see how much it's grown! Thanks for the help I'll keep regular updates/pics going every few days.

Hey man!

We're all here to help each other!! 20/4 sounds fun, that's what I do with my autos!!
About your fans.. If noise is a problem (usually in stealth grows it is), just buy an ordinary pc fan (most guys prefer 120mm from 80mm) from any comp. store.
If not, look it up in an electronics store!! I got fucked up lately trying to find a silent pc fan and these guys sold me a crazy ass fan, about 16$ !!!! , and it's too damn noisy!!

Can't return it, the store is too far away!!

Cheers!!

Wow, you're quicker than me @ posting!!
For your water, you should be at 6.5 (or 6.4, .3 should do for veg) and when going into flower, you can keep it at 6.5 or raise it a bit. IMO 6.5 all the time is better.
And the reason why is here: (Look at the 2nd chart which is for soil)
It's the nutrient intake @ different pH levels.

For your soil anything from 6.3 to 6.6 would do, from my personal experience, which, I have to mention, is nothing great.

Hope I helped!!

Cheers!!

ya..keep your PH in check and don't over water young plants as lots of people do...the ol' pick it up and see how heavy it is, is a good method to determine if it needs water or not. and from what I've heard, autos are super nute sensitive...so maybe start at 1/8 strength and work up from there....once they need it that is..they can probably survive off just water for a little bit and get nutes from the soil..they'll tell you when they need fo00O00od!!!!!

looks good man...keep it up!!

Well, about nutes, I'd say it depends on the strain, even with autos.
There are always light and heavy feeders!!
Though I suggest not to start @ the week that the company tells you to, and when you do, start at max. 1/6 strength!
Though I believe it's something to be discovered by each one of us. Search over the net if someone else has raised this strain and see how much info you can get.
You can learn from other people's mistakes!! :-P

Avrum, pal, is this fan noisy at all?? I was thinking about upgrading my pc fan!!

Cheers!!

It's not silent but definitely not noisy... It's quiet for the amount of air it throws, IMHO.

First month or so treat it like any other weed. Give it water and just enough. After that feed her light nutes until she's full grown.

OK will do guys cheers, there both looking Good at the moment and ordered 2 pc fans earlier on.

Anybody here used a successful pc fan carbon filter or are they just not good enough? Could do with some sort of smell masking/removing.
