I'm goin to keep this thread as a running log. I've made a bunch and I'm going to stick with this one. I encourage you to follow me to help me through my journey!

Almost 8 weeks from seed. I topped with uncle bens method. Built this 3x3 scrog net and put it in last night. Did I do alright?Thinking of flipping on the 8 week mark on Monday. Would that suit? Looks like about 80% covered. Thanks for stoppin by

Too early to flip for me yet. Barely started by my ScroG standards. Let them grow out for a while then their side branches will grow out too and you can tie them down. I use short pieces of twist tie to lash them loosely to the screen. Then you can move a while branch over if you need to. Can't do that if you weave.

Should be a lot of nice colas when it's done. :)

Thanks for sharing your wisdom mayn. I know everyone has different methods. So you don't weave at all? Do you tie down/ weave for 3 weeks in 12/12? Appreciate

I tend to veg longer than I should most of the time. I usually just ScroG one plant with DWC and will run a branch out to the edge of the screen, let it grow a few inches then turn it around and head it back onto the screen.

I don't weave at all. As the branches grow above the screen just bend the top over and lash it to the screen. I buy twist tie on a roll from the garden center and snip off 3" pieces or use twist ties from garbage bags or where ever. The screen is a piece of sheep fencing and has square holes as big as 4x6" so if I want to go across a big gap I tie in a piece of that twist tie to make a bridge to lash the growing tip to until it gets across and can be tied to the screen again. Once the branch is trained to be horizontal pieces of twist tie further back can be removed and used elsewhere.

Day 3 after scrog
Your plants look really healthy by the way. I can see tops there that look tall enough to bend over and tie down.

Gonna be fun watering your plants under there. I bought a big funnel at the auto parts store to reach into spaces I couldn't easily with a milk jug full of water/nutes. Even a kitchen funnel with some tubing attached could go go down thru the canopy and get water in the pots easily. You have measured out the amount of water it takes to do a good soak when they get dry haven't you? A shop vac is handy to get runoff water out of the catch pans in the back too.

Looking great so far!

Thank you man that means a lot. I've seen your name around here a time or two. I've done enough reading to know hat you know your stuff. I did invest in a multi purpose sprayer that I can reach a far distance with. I also have a good idea of how each plant retains water. I'm going to give the smaller an extra couple days in the rotation. I'm trying to stay as organic as possible I've only fed once with a compost/all purpose fertilizer tea

Temps are getting bad. 93* and a heat wave comin. Predicting crop failure. Afraid to get ac prob will blow a circuit. I'm sad but at least everything I bought was an investment and I have losts of freebies to work w when I get my own proper space.. sad face

Holy mother of bush, Barbara? Haha that's a beautiful sight I see what you mean extensive vegging and mine not being ready by your standards. Some day I'll do it right. I feel like I need to flip for temp reasons. I need to start running my lights at night. Calling to the universe for strength and resilience to my girls

Fill some pots, bowls, 2-liters, gatorade jugs with water and freeze them. Lay them around your grow area. Replace when room temp. It's tedious but a week or two of refreezing bottles ain't nothing compared to losing your crop.

I built one of those dyi ac's with a cooler a heater core and an inline fan. I went to the beach and collected salt water to freeze. Doesn't seem to be affecting temp at all. Might upgrade to a better exhaust fan for the tent. But will continue to do it and will try leave more freezing shit under the canopy. Also need to run my lights at night when I flip asap I think

Good luck!! I like the grow, plants look super healthy, I would hate to see you lose them. I would go with a small ac, and just use a thick extension cord to put it on a diffrent circut.

Scrog looks good, just let it keep growing so your secondary branches have a chance to grow out so you can get more tops. You can also considering topping your plant if a branch starts getting too long, as long as you are still in veg it will just boast the growth speed and strength of all those secondary branches that are coming up from under the screen.

Right now I'm managing a 4x4 scrog and it's just about full. I don't "weave" My branches like some, over and under the screen, I just bend them under the screen, then when the branch is tall enough I just bend the branch back under and up into the next hole. I've been in flower for 3 days and plan on quitting my training in a couple days here. I wouldn't train any longer than 2 weeks in because after that you should be letting them grow up to achieve some good colas. Depending on what size light you have changes your penetration and how long into flower you should quit training. Smaller light, train longer into flower for shorter canopy. stronger light, stop training earlier for a thicker canopy.

Thank you man. They are starting to show signs of heat stress now. Today was in the 90's in there again. I don't have a window in my shed so I'm not sure if I can make it work getting an ac. Not sure if it's worth it to get a better exhaust fan. I'm about to call it quits and leave em outside. I've learned a lot this time around anyway. Someday I'll be living the propetual dream when I move and have the space I need. I was going to flower with 600 watt hps but that ain't gunna help the heat problem.

Such a sad day but I've decided to let these sad beings free and out to the elements. 3 strait days at 93* to 97*. I don't want to make this battle all summer; they won't last in there. And the stress was killing me let alone them. Although they look great now, I've read the literature and I know they wouldn't survive those elements long term. For the best interest to let them go.

So scrog didn't work out for me this time but here's to the future.

Day one outside: thunderstorm. It's tough out there ain't it?
1 Chuck those is some bigger pots. As big as you can find.
2 Get your butt down to Home Depot and gather enough stuff to build a screen for EACH of those.
3 Give each plant 3x3 or 4x4. Hey maybe 5x5 if you think you can fill em?
4 Don't kill em.
5 Harvest a few pounds of dope in fall.
6 Bring me a half ounce of each plant if they're different strains for my good idea.
