Okay, so I'm new to the world of growin some mary jane. I've read up on tons of different threads everywhere you could think of and could not find what I was looking for. So I decided to post something and hopefully get tons of feedback on this. I have a really small room, therefore need a small grow box. I know the very basics of growing. I know how to germinate, determine sex (kinda), harvest (but as to WHEN to harvest, I'm kinda lost), and of course smoke.
My own wants for the magic green box:
Size:
I'm wanting something around the size of 1 foot wide, 1 foot deep, and maybe two feet tall for the box. I realize this small of a grow box won't give me as much yield in the end, but hey, bud is bud, amirite?
I also wanna incorporate the Screen of Green I think the one I want is called. A horizontal screen is the one I want, but I wouldn't know how high to place it, what kind of screen, etc.
comments, concerns, and suggestions on this?
Lighting:
I really wanna try and use LED lights. They are energy efficient and can stay cool, which would help with keeping my temperature low and the plant would be able to touch the light without you know, burning your house down. The only specific thing I know, or at least think I know is that blue light would help in the veg state, and red would help in the flowering state. But other then that I really have no idea what kind of lights to buy or how many.
comments concerns, and suggestions on this as well?
pH, fertilizers, humidity, soil mix:
I don't know hardly anything about this. I think the pH should be between 6.3-6.9 but I don't know how to adjust it or what to get to adjust it. I think pool pH testers would work for figuring out the pH, but I don't know. I know the humidity should be between 50-60 ideally but don't know where to get a meter or what all can lower the humidity, and obviously a humidifier would raise it. I have got no idea what kind of soil I should use at all.
-pH, nutrients, humidity, soil, pot size, fans (both intake and outtake) I am pretty much lost on. So TONS of help would be appreciated.
Odor:
For the odor, I was planning on making a tube basically, putting a carbon filter like the one shown in this thread:

in the end of the tube, with a fan pushing air through the tube outside on the other end of the tube, so it would look like this kinda:

Seeds:
I really have no idea on this either. I want something that is not too expensive, but I can get some really good strong bud. I do remember reading something about the two different types of seeds, one that grows slower and matures slower but has more THC and then the... yeah you guys know what I'm talking about. I want some of both, not hybrid though taking any suggestions on this. Planning on having maybe two plants? But I don't know if my desired box size will be able to fit that.
I would really like some feedback on this, please help a newbie to growin make some good stuff! Thanks!
P.S. I also wanna very quick grow, so planning on a 12/12 from seed grow. QCC?
