GET those lights as close to your plant as possible(2-6) inches away and aly foil isn't ideal but it will suffice until you can get some Mylar or even the stuff I use its black on one side(keeps light out)and white on the outher my hydro store gave me it for nothing but it only costs 10 bucks for a shit load of it.........very handy...and you can line it over the top of the aly foil for insulation....Perfect...

welcome to rollitup sniper, plant looks fine. Flat white is always a safe bet. But for the other members if he is using glo tubes and CFL's where are the hot spots gunna come from? With HID's sure but never heard of it or encountered it with this type of lighting.

Listen their will b no hot spots just get them lights as close as possible as I already mentioned but if your worried about heat burn place your hand close to your biggest bulb and keep it their for ten seconds you need to feel comfortable with the heat for that duration keep putting it closer until it feels uncomfortable when you hit that stage move it back an inch and that will b your desired hight.......same for EVERY bulb.....and as for the foil yes it's not as reflective but I still got 15 oz from 5 plants on my first grow using it just try and get it as smooooth as poss and you will b fine.....Good luck ...

Yeah aluminum foil creates hot spots..
I've said it before (many times) and I'll say it again "That's just Bullshit!". Noboby has actually had that problem - ever. It's just an old wive's tale that keeps getting passed along. In order for that to be true, a large amount of surface area would have to focus the light onto a very small area - extreemly unlikely!

The real reason not to use aluminum foil is that it is a "Piss poor" reflective surface for growing (even though it looks good to the eye).

Wow Dank those are awesome plants i hope mine will eventually get like that, have done any topping
SO far yes topped them both once. Going to do it again probably today might wait another few days this is my frist grow so im trying to be as patient as possible. Your plants are doing real well dont worry. Get you plants a nice trio of nutes. At a local hydroponic shop Or maybe look online. Or go to homedepot if you dont have a store locally. They have good stuff. I usually stay away from Miracle Gro
