i have two pumps set on three gallon tub with four air stones with one og kush strain ... is two pumps to much or the bigger the better???? what nutrients do i need in the water i know to change it every 10 days but do i need to put anything in the water??

wwill have pictures up soon waiting on a new camera.........................

Are you using just tap water with nothing in it at all? How old are the plants? How much water is in that 3 gallon tub?

what are your water temps ?
what is your ph and ppm's right now ?

Got be real specific with info for help to be good.
The more the better.
Temps (ambient and water)
wattage and distance from plants
medium
nutes
res size
pot size
strain (indica or sat dom or balanced hydbrid)

all i got is ph strips to test my water, and im dealing with a flourecent light set up three gallon tub no nutes yet and the strain is og kush. the light is prolly about six inces way from the top of the plant.. what should i get to check the temp of the water???? and what should i the ideal temp be.. and with my ph stripes it only reads to 6.2 to 8.4 couldnt find any but at walmart... plant looks heathly but for how long i need to get my facts up on hydroponics. i read everyday but never seem to get anywere..

You need to find a hydroponics store in your area. Check within a 25 mile radious first. Use yahoo/google maps.
You can buy a ph/temp/ppm meter combo or any mix of the 3 into 2 in 1 meters.
I have a ph/temp combo meter and a seperate ppm meter.
My combo can be had for around $50. Ebay it. The ppm meter for around $20 I think.
My combo is a Milwaukee Martini ph55. My ppm is by Sunleaves.

can you help me understand the ppm meter and how to use it.. and what temps i need to keep it at.. and how do i maintain the temp to heat it up or cool it down...:joint:

ppm meter measures the elements in your nute mix.
Same as EC or TDS. Electrical Conductivity or Total Dissolved Solids.
EC is a more precise measurement out of all 3 though.
100 - 250 ppm = seedlings (up to 14 days from seed)
250 - 800 ppm = veg
800 - 2000 ppm = bloom

Temps need to be 60F - 70F, with 65F being ideal for the most oxygen
I drop a 1/2 gal frozen water bottle in my 12gal Igloo cooler 30 min before lights on (12/12). Temps stay 64F - 67F.
During lights off the temp still stays below 68.5F.
For a 5gal bucket, I'd suggest a frozen water bottle of 32 ounce Gatorade. That's 1/4 gal or 1/2 of a 1/2......lmao

Time for you to do more homework too.
Go buy a Jorge Cervantes book like, Marijuana Horticulture from Barnes&Nobles or Borders. They both sell it in store.

If your PPM is too high, add more water to dilute it. If your PPM is too low, add more nutes to raise it. In a DWC you can keep records of the PPM every 24 hours, and get an idea of how much your plants are eating. Ideally you want them to drink and eat at the same rate.

With PH, you don't want to keep it at a constant level. You want to set it to something like 5.5 and then let it drift up to 6.2ish before adjusting it back down. Think of it as in ideal range, not one set level.
